Here we break down the NW's top 25 teams heading into the season among all classifications. The state of Oregon has beaten Washington teams over the last few years, with West Linn and Central Catholic beating the likes of Sumner, Bellevue, and Lake Stevens. Traditionally this hasn't been the case with Washington being relatively dominant. Check out #11-25 featured below.

11.Kennedy Catholic WA

The Lancers are loaded on both sides of the ball with the state's #1 ranked 2026 recruit [player_tooltip player_id='402789' first='Derek' last='Colman-Brusa'] leading on the defensive side along with a plethora of young talent. They will be tested in Week 2 playing against defending 4A state champ Sumner.

12.Chiawana WA

One of the top programs in the state of Washington. Chiawana doesn't necessarily produce a bunch of high-profile athletes, but they typically finish ranked among the state's best. Last year was no different with the Riverhawks losing a triple overtime thriller to Sumner 37-31 in the state semifinals.

13.Mead WA

Reigning defensive GSL Player of the Year [player_tooltip player_id='1589190' first='Garrett' last='Miller'] and 6-5 1st team all-conference DE [player_tooltip player_id='1589203' first='Cooper' last='Daines'] are back leading the D from a team that finished 11-2 and lost in the state quarterfinals 52-49 to traditional 4A power Lake Stevens. They lose standout RB Keegan Mallon to graduation but if they show up on offense they will once again be one of the best in the state.

14.Puyallup WA

Maybe the most intriguing program in the region heading into the season with some legit transfers. [player_tooltip player_id='726165' first='Jasiah' last='Denmark'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1165415' first='Jayden' last='Woodland'] and big time 2028 national recruit [player_tooltip player_id='984781' first='Markel' last='Newell'] give the Vikings one of the best secondaries on the west coast. [player_tooltip player_id='1188082' first='Gecova' last='Doyal'] and 6-5 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1188105' first='J'Isaiah' last='Mitchell'] both rank as two of the top six players in the state for the 2027 class. There is no reason they don't make a playoff run this season.

15.Tualatin OR

The T Wolves are once again a top 5 Oregon team with some of the best up and coming talent in the region. The biggest question will be with the young guys and whether or not they can step up in the brutally tough TRL. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='937241' first='Cole' last='Hachmeister'] and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1609595' first='Iden' last='Rule'] both look like the real deal so we will see.

16.Lake Stevens WA

The traditional 4A power is young but still dangerous. They went 8-4 last year losing to the likes of Sumner, Bellevue, and Chiawana. Look for the line to be a strength with three underclassmen leading the way in 3* Snohomish transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1188123' first='Ty' last='Tautolo'], and O lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1241961' first='Will' last='Lynch'] and [player_tooltip player_id='984903' first='Calvin' last='Middendorf'].

17.Camas WA

Camas graduates some significant talent from last years team that reached the state title game. QB and Conference POY Jake Davidson along with D1 defensive standouts Luke Webb and Nikko Speer are gone. The Papermakers are young but consistently one of the top programs in the NW.

18.Lincoln WA

[player_tooltip player_id='1188085' first='Sione' last='Kaho'] returns as the state's #1 prospect for 2027 with guys all around him, including an impressive young line. The Abes went 9-3 last season losing 20-7 in the state quarterfinals to Eastside Catholic. If they can get big years out of their perimeter guys such as [player_tooltip player_id='1368334' first='Elijah' last='Carney'], [player_tooltip player_id='1165443' first='Kasey' last='Williams'], [player_tooltip player_id='1165459' first='Tyrone' last='Jones'], and 2028 standout [player_tooltip player_id='995881' first='JT' last='Williams'], they could make a deep run come playoff time.

19.Jesuit OR

I personally really like this years Jesuit team. 6-7 tackle [player_tooltip player_id='770046' first='Quinn' last='Wicklow'] and 6-5 DE [player_tooltip player_id='770047' first='John' last='Ching'] are both D1 guys, with the Crusaders LB group as good as anyone in the state. 3* ATH [player_tooltip player_id='770006' first='Joe' last='Stimpson'] is the real deal and has a legit shot of being the Metro League POY on both sides of the ball. I will give them the early edge over Mountainside for the conference title.

20.Willamette OR

This will be an interesting one to watch. Josh Line is an outstanding coach and on paper the Wolverines feature numerous D1 guys, including the state's #1 recruit for 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='739439' first='Tony' last='Cumberland'], along with two other nationally ranked underclass prospects in [player_tooltip player_id='791149' first='Kawai' last='Chamberlin'] and [player_tooltip player_id='904208' first='Zeke' last='Thomas']. Two years ago, the Wolverines didn't win a game at the 5A level and now they are playing 6A ball, so there are still question marks.

21.Glacier Peak WA

6-5 TE [player_tooltip player_id='1315611' first='Zach' last='Albright'] has blown up and is now a big-time national recruit. Both [player_tooltip player_id='1110833' first='Isaiah' last='Owens'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1092123' first='Isaiah' last='Olson'] return as two of the fastest athletes in Washington. If they can get consistent line play with a defense that shows up, they could make a run come playoff time.

22.Bothell WA

Look for the Cougars to get back on track after three .500 seasons in a row and win a few of those close ball games in the Kingco. They don't feature a bunch of D1 prospects, but they are one of the most well-run programs in the NW.

23.Richland WA

I like the Bombers to do well this year behind one of the region's most underrated athletes in [player_tooltip player_id='726175' first='Brody' last='Bocek'] and 6-4 D1 OLB [player_tooltip player_id='1691667' first='Sylen' last='Kiesel-Kauhane']. It's always a battle between rivals within the conference, losing 14-13 to Kennewick last year and beating Kamiakin 21-20.

24.Mountainside OR

3* New Mexico commit QB [player_tooltip player_id='1232699' first='Cade' last='Mitchell'] had one of the best-off seasons of any player on the west coast and RB [player_tooltip player_id='1094961' first='Jordan' last='Hicks'] returns after back-to-back 1st team all-Metro campaigns. That being said, the Mavericks have had numerous high profile guy's transfer including Sam Vyhidal, [player_tooltip player_id='845242' first='Sean' last='Bour-Nelson'], and recently top lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1110963' first='Aiden' last='Jakubauskas'] to West Linn. Makes you wonder what's going on.

25.Skyline WA

The Spartans lose some talented kids to graduation, but I like the addition of sophomore QB [player_tooltip player_id='1789793' first='Ben' last='Odom'] who made the transfer from Texas and already has a handful of D1 offers. You can also expect monster senior seasons from WR [player_tooltip player_id='1165348' first='Luke' last='Morgan'] and LB [player_tooltip player_id='1530869' first='Hunter' last='Hixson'].

25.Eastlake WA

6-3 210 RB/LB [player_tooltip player_id='936091' first='Colby' last='Johnson'] is a freak athlete. Colorado should be off the charts stoked with his commitment. The Wolves went 4-5 last year with a tough schedule, but as long as Johnson stays healthy, I think he will keep Eastlake in playoff contention.
