Preseason Review - Regents Knights

The Regents Knights had an impressive 2024 campaign, finishing 11-2 overall and going a perfect 6-0 in district play. They showcased a balanced attack on offense and a stingy defense that kept them in control most of the season. Their run ended in the playoffs against a strong All Saints squad, but the Knights proved they were one of the top teams in their division. Heading into 2025, expectations remain high. With key returners on both sides of the ball, the Knights will look to build on last year's momentum and make another deep playoff push. The offense should once again be explosive, while the defense will aim to maintain its physical, disciplined style. If they can stay healthy and continue their strong district dominance, Regents could be primed for another championship caliber season. He commands the pocket with confidence, reading defenses quickly and delivering throws with timing and touch. His deep ball has real zip, allowing him to stretch the field, while his accuracy on intermediate routes keeps the chains moving. When the pocket collapses, Devine's athleticism shines he can escape pressure, reset his feet, and still deliver a strike, or tuck it and pick up key yards on the ground.   What separates him is his ability to stay calm under pressure and make the right decision, whether that's hitting his third read or taking off for a first down. He plays with a quarterback's mind and a playmaker's instincts, making him a constant threat no matter the situation.      Blake is a quick and crafty wide receiver who thrives on creating separation and making plays in space. His sharp route running and burst off the line allow him to get open consistently, and once the ball is in his hands, he's a problem for defenders with his agility and vision. Smith had 34 Receptions and 734 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He's also a dangerous weapon on special teams, handling both kick and punt returns with the same explosiveness he shows on offense. Whether he's moving the chains, flipping field position, or breaking one for six, Blake brings game changing ability every time he touches the ball. Blake currently holds 2 offers from Georgetown and Marist.      Kade is a reliable and explosive wide receiver who made the most of every opportunity in 2024, hauling in 43 receptions for 995 Receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. He's a constant deep threat with the speed to take the top off a defense, yet he's just as dangerous on intermediate routes where his body control and strong hands shine. Kade has a knack for winning contested catches and turning routine plays into big gains.      Drew is a smart and physical safety who plays with a fearless mentality on the back end. He reads the game well, reacting quickly to diagnose plays and get in position to make stops. In coverage, he can match up with receivers and tight ends, while in run support he's not afraid to step up and deliver a hit. Drew's blend of instincts, toughness, and versatility makes him a dependable presence in the secondary and a tone setter for the defense.        Ashton is a relentless outside linebacker who was all over the field in 2024, racking up 89 total tackles.
