North Forney Falcons 2025 Season Preview

<p>The North Forney Falcons enter the 2025 season with momentum, confidence, and one of the most explosive rosters in Texas high school football. After finishing 8–4 overall and 5–1 in District 10-6A last fall, head coach Marcus Shavers has his team primed for another run at the playoffs, and the expectations in Forney are sky-high.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Gilbert II is a rangy cornerback with excellent ball skills, he plays press man with violent hands and his ability to mirror receivers in coverage enables him to lock down his opponent. He has great hips with ability to change directions fluidly to stay engaged to make plays on the ball. Ryan is a sure tackler in run support, taking proper angles to the ball carrier and he sets the edge well. Legend's name fits his legendary game, he is electric with the football in his hands, he has the arm talent to make throws into small passing windows, as well as drop deep ball dimes downfield with touch. Bey is an explosive runner with elite speed, he is phonebooth quick with ability to make game breaking runs from any down or distance. He put Madden like numbers his junior season, passing for 1,444 yards and rushing for 1,912 yards and 41 total touchdowns. He has the speed to stretch field vertically and he works the underneath zones like a veteran. He uses his quickness and explosive burst at the snap to get defenders on their heels early in his routes and he gets in and out of his breaks under control. He transitions into his backpedal smoothly and his ability to flip his fluidly enables him to stay in phase with receivers in tight coverage. He has the speed, quickness and ball skills to recover and gain ground in a hurry to shut down passing windows that appear open. Fleming gives the Falcons defense another lock down defender that makes them a favorite to come out of district 10-6A as a playoff team. He has the ability to make one cut, get north quickly and he has the burst to create separation at the second level. Asuquo he superb contact balance combined with ability to break arm tackles at the point of attack that adds a dynamic element to the Falcons running game. The Lamar University commit was 10-6A All-District selection as a junior and he will be another offensive weapon the Falcons can count on in 2025.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Thrower Jr. has seen his recruiting take off this offseason and he is one the fastest rising recruits in the 2027 class in Texas. He is a high flyer with elite speed and burst making him a mismatch nightmare for defenses. He has elite body control that enables him to elevate, contort his body midair and win on 50/50 balls routinely. Thrower Jr. not only can stretch the field with his speed but he is a savvy route runner that can get open in the short to intermediate zones, making him a constatnt offensive threat. He has great balance combined with nimble feet that allows him to get in his kick slide quickly in pass protection. Marcus brings a physical presence to the run game with ability to lock in and drive defenders off of their axis to create running lanes. His basketball background shows that he has the athletic makeup that elite OL prospects possess at the next level. He has strong reliable hands combined with his superb route running that enable him to be a reliable target. Perkins has elite speed and his skill set as a pass catcher makes him a weapon in the Falcons offense that should get touches each game. He has an explosive first step and his powerful leg drive puts defenders on skates early at engagement. He has offers from Sacramento State, Texas College, Missouri Southern and Missouri Western.
