The recruiting clock is all over the place these days. With so much roster movement within college programs, high schoolers are forced to be patient at times. No need to panic if you're still on the board with your senior season beginning. There's still opportunity to impress scouts that will end up with openings on the next level.

Here's a group of guys that can raise their stock during the 2025 campaign:

Welbes was a key player as a junior for the unbeaten state champion Golden Eagles in 2024. He led them with 88.0 tackles, 58 of which were of the solo variety, earning first-team all-district honors on defense. He posted 11.0 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks and forced a fumble. Welbes chipped in with 19 carries for 188 yards and five touchdowns on the ground, too. When we pop on his 11th-grade highlight video, we witness him pick up yards out of the wildcat formation. Welbes is an active linebacker that diagnoses what's coming pre-snap and often is in motion towards where the play is headed. He runs well and can cover, too.

Krapfl was an integral, two-way contributor for the unbeaten state champion Golden Eagles in 2024. He posted 12.5 tackles, eight of which were solo, as a linebacker. On offense, he helped pave the way for a Wahlert rushing attack that piled up 3,361 yards (7.6 YPC) and 44 touchdowns. Krapfl stands out for his physicality when we watch his 11th-grade highlight video. He was used as a blocker in space, playing more like a tight end than a tackle, which he lists as a position. He also shifts around on defense. Krapfl is able to succeed with a lot of athleticism and quickness for his size. His frame also could fill out more without him losing those assets.

Rubel is an interesting prospect. During the Wildcats' run to the state championship game last fall, the junior delivered 24.5 tackles, 19 of which were solo stops, and recovered a fumble. He also connected on four of five field-goal attempts and proved true on 43 of 45 extra-point tries. During his 11th-grade highlight video, Rubel shows a short, compact leg swing on his kicks. There's not a lot of wasted movement before he powers through the ball. Rubel doesn't include defensive highlights on his film, so he favors kicking in college.

Donahe was a two-way dynamo as a junior on a Humboldt outfit that reached the Class 3A state championship game. He piled up 76.5 tackles with 58 of them being solo stops. Donahe also collected 9.5 tackles for loss and intercepted four passes. His 11th-grade highlight video is fun to watch. Donahe is an active linebacker that gets downhill in a hurry. That's aided by him diagnosing plays before the snap and being in motion toward where they're headed, flowing well to the football and shedding blocks effectively. Donahe is physical and a technically sound tackler.

Guy is a big guy that moves well for his size. It helped him pile up 38.0 tackles for a Humboldt team that made it to the state championship game last fall. He had 28 solo tackles, 5.0 stops for loss and a sack. His junior highlight video lends insight into how he gets the job done. Guy is a handful on the defensive line, playing with strength and quickness. Those traits help him dominate on the offensive line, too. He operates with effective leverage on both sides of the trench and controls opponents with good hand placement. Guy is someone on which to keep an eye this season.

Meyer played an important role for an Independence outfit that reached the state quarterfinals last season. He produced 45.5 tackles, 36 of which were of the solo variety. Meyer intercepted six passes and averaged 25.8 yards on 15 kick returns, two of which he took back to the house. On offense, he completed 2 of 3 passes for 64 yards and a touchdown, rushed nine times for 52 yards and a score, and caught 31 balls for 221 yards. Meyer's Hudl page does not house a junior highlight video, but it does include individual game clips. On them, he displays the versatile skill set that makes him a prospect at multiple positions. While he shows promise on offense, his attributes and athleticism might work best in the secondary on the next level.
