ARKANSAS HSFB: Week Zero Scouting Report

<p>The opening week of Arkansas high school football begins this week, with Week Zero matchups scheduled for Friday, August 29. In our upcoming weekly scouting reports, we will provide detailed analyses of key players to watch and highlight potential risers or promising prospects who may not have received much attention so far.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1525124' first='Caden' last='Whitaker'] and Arkadelphia take on Camden Fairview in their week zero matchup. The Badgers look to two-peat after winning the 2024, 4A state championship. Whitaker aided in the running back rotation last year and looks to see an increase in reps in 2025. He displays solid contact balance, leg drive, and lower body strength to break through tackles. He's physical at the point of attack and is a reliable tackler in space. Renick plays with a high motor and utilizes his athletic ability all over the field. Fisher is an athletic slot receiver who will make defenders miss post-catch due to solid change of direction, balance, and burst upfield. He's a track star as well. He's expected to get many reps at the running back position in 2025. Woods is explosive post-snap, showcasing good vision to read and locate running lanes quickly. He will outrun the defense with very good foot speed. The running back is also dangerous in the receiving game due to his RAC ability. I expect him to be in All-State contention. They came close last season, ending with their best season since 2011. Wolcott possesses solid mechanics and footwork in the pocket. He is a good decision-maker, capable of progressing through multiple reads post-snap. His strong arm allows him to deliver the ball across all field levels with good ball placement. He anticipates effectively, setting up his receivers.
