The early rounds of rankings updates are more a process of the lists expanding than of the first prospects identified already notably improving their stock.

So, until about junior season, new editions feature far more "debuts" than "climbers."

But a few young athletes who had debuted on the first list this past winter still managed to enjoy moves up a few spots in the latest edition heading into sophomore year.

No. 14 [player_tooltip player_id='1263234' first='Kason' last='Williams'] — 6-1, 180 RB/ATH — Alexandria

Freshman film on Williams was loaded with clips of him lined up as more of an H-back and served as a late dump-off option for his quarterback when necessary. But we've had a chance to see and hear more about his ball-carrying ability throughout the offseason from spring practice through college camps this summer and into the fall camp leading up to his sophomore season, and he is poised for a notable role in his Trojans' offense this year.

No. 16 [player_tooltip player_id='1618851' first='Darrell' last='Taylor'] — 6-1, 180 WR — John Ehret

The biggest leap in this round of rankings updates came from the Patriots' pass-catcher who has started receiving some local billing as one of the next top prospects coming out of the New Orleans West Bank. Taylor hit the list initially after a quick glimpse during a game early last season. And as he has continued to come on and as more information and footage becomes available, his stock continues to rise with good size for the next level and the ability to go up and make tougher catches through contact.

No. 27 [player_tooltip player_id='1372199' first='Curtis' last='McAllister'] — 6-3, 185 WR — Metairie Park Country Day

The Cajuns' multisport standout, the son of former New Orleans Saints star Deuce McAllister, has continued to fill out physically and develop into a more well-rounded and consistent receiver. The long, athletic pass-catcher climbs a few spots into the top 30 ahead of a sophomore season that sounds likely to propel him farther up the list based on the word of his continued progression and high expectations.

No. 43 [player_tooltip player_id='1545020' first='Braylon' last='Moore'] — 6-2, 175 WR — North DeSoto

Moore remained largely steady in the rankings and actually moved up a couple spots despite all the new additions. The Griffins' intriguing young pass-catcher has great size and hands for the position. And getting more of a look in the fall at his performance as a route-runner and his handling of the more physical aspects of the game will continue providing a clearer picture.
