The quarterback and wide receiver position in the Palmetto State in 2025 promises to be an all-star cast, and that's what the 2025 Prep RedZone All-State Preseason Team Presented by Johnson & Lambe encompasses. Seven of them have mid to major level college interest or have already made commitments, and they'll have huge impacts for their teams throughout the season.

QUARTERBACKS

[player_tooltip player_id='1094944' first='Aiden' last='Manavian'] | Oceanside Collegiate

All that Manavian does is win. He's back for Oceanside after leading the Landsharks to another state championship. He has an impressive velocity on his throws. The zip on his throws is fun to watch; he puts it right on the money to where only his guy can get it. He can stand in the pocket and make a short to intermediate pass go for a long touchdown. He can step up and make throws on the run as well, if the need arises. Manavin completed 70% of his passes, 3,507 yards and 42 touchdowns in 2024. We expect him to have a huge junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1394988' first='Aedan' last='McCarthy'] | Bluffton

The ability to extend plays is what stands out when you turn on McCarthy's tape from 2024. He can do it while keeping his eyes downfield and evaluating the coverage to deliver the ball to his receivers where they can catch it in stride and put points on the scoreboard. He can also make plays on designed quarterback runs. If he finds a lane, it could be a house call. When he has opportunities to throw the ball, like on out routes and routes to the middle of the field, they are accurate and there's a clear throwing lane.

[player_tooltip player_id='473002' first='Cameron' last='McMillon'] | South Pointe

After throwing for 2580 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2024, McMillon returns for his senior year for the Stallions. But the stat line is only part of what stands out as he brings a lot to the table. When you watch him throw, he can put the ball in between two defenders, like on a seam route when we went back and watched his film – the receiver can run right underneath it and get yards after the catch. He can throw a deep post and allow the receiver to get into the route before the throw, and before a defender can make a play on it. He can also make plays on the run when plays break down. Colleges have taken notice as he has offers from the University of West Georgia and Johnson C. Smith University.

[player_tooltip player_id='284134' first='Jayvon' last='Gilmore'] | Gaffney

The Arkansas commit has it all – size, speed, ability to make plays on the run and get it to his receivers. He's fun to watch when he gets out into the open field because he's hard to catch once he gets his momentum going. As far as his arm is concerned, he can launch it downfield on a vertical route and let his receivers do the rest. He has great size to be able to see the field and he can check it down to his guys on a shallow route and they can help keep the offense on schedule.

[player_tooltip player_id='1166986' first='Messiah' last='Jackson'] | South Florence

Jackson's ability to set his feet and make accurate throws was the thing that stood out when we turned on his film from the 2024 season, where the Bruins captured the 4A title over Westside. He can evaluate coverages quickly before the defender can react and get set. Most times receivers are running right by them for a touchdown. He has great size for the position and can make plays with his feet as well. He can run defenders over and is smart with protecting himself while prioritizing ball security.

[player_tooltip player_id='1025784' first='Roper' last='Wentzky'] | AC Flora

Wentzky (pictured above) had an excellent 2024 campaign, throwing for 2,684 yards and 28 touchdowns. He has a good presence of mind in the pocket to quickly scan the coverage and find the open receivers. You can tell he has chemistry with his guys because he can make the routine throws, like on out routes or post routes. He has a nice velocity on his throws and is not afraid to go outside the pocket to find the open guy.

WIDE RECEIVERS

[player_tooltip player_id='1580947' first='Jayden' last='Boyd'] | Fairfield Central

The best way to describe Boyd is versatile. Yes, he's able to go up and make catches and make plays for the offense. The Duke commit can move around on jet sweeps and be able to outrun defenders with his speed and he knows where to go find the green grass. He runs great routes and is especially effective on deep, vertical routes. He can take a quick pass, like a screen and get up field quickly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1165081' first='Kendall' last='Byrd'] | AC Flora

Byrd had a stellar junior season, recording 83 receptions for 1104 yards and ten touchdowns. He is a technician at the position to where he can take a quick pass, like a screen or a curl route, like we saw on his film and get up field quickly for a first down or a touchdown. He has good awareness once he catches the ball to get around defenders. He doesn't dance or make moves in space, it's good north and south progress.

[player_tooltip player_id='1395046' first='KD' last='Hainsworth'] | Mountain View Prep

The UNC-Charlotte commit will be the leader in the Stars receiver room in 2025. While he's great at making the routine catches in the quick game and on routes like a deep post, he's also effective in the run game as the Stars will move him around on reverses and jet sweeps. He has the speed and elusiveness to get away from defenders. Simply put, he's a playmaker who will be tough to defend in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='816751' first='Jude' last='Hall'] | Christ Church

The Memphis commit is another exciting guy to watch with the ball in his hands. He is a sure catcher and excels in beating one-on-one coverage. He can pluck the ball right out of the air as he has great size for the position. That size allows him to box himself out against defenders and make plays on routes like comeback routes. The All-Region receiver from 2024 finished with 795 yards and five touchdowns with 57 receptions.

[player_tooltip player_id='1172363' first='Khristian' last='Jackson'] | Ridge View

Jackson is a speedster on the outside and is a home run threat with the ball in his hands. When we turned on his film, he excels at running routes to the corner. He knows where to get to in his route to where the quarterback can get it to him quickly, and a lot of times it's for a touchdown. He can also make plays in the quick passing game, as he's able to take a quick screen and get up field quickly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1165163' first='Zamaurious' last='Robertson'] | Dillon

Robertson is an impact player with the ball in his hands. He can take a quick slant and pluck the ball out of the air and get up field quickly to keep the offense on schedule. He has a height advantage over defenders to where he can go up and make catches on deep, vertical passes and once he makes the catch, it's either a first down or a touchdown. We expect him to have a big senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1267334' first='Kameron' last='Vance'] | Northwestern

Vance excels in the Air Raid offense that the Trojans run, and he's back for his senior season after an undefeated, state championship season. The Lafayette College (PA) commit will line up primarily in the slot and knows how to find the green grass and get open. Once he gets open, he can get yards after the catch and make people miss in the open field, like we saw in their state championship win over Irmo to end the 2024 season. He finished with 1126 yards receiving and 16 touchdowns in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='402486' first='Carnell' last='Warren'] | Bluffton

Warren is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. The North Carolina commit lines up normally on the outside and can jump and beat one-on-one coverage consistently, he even made a catch with two defenders draped all over him. He can also take a five-yard slant route and turn it into a long gain as he excels in getting yards after the catch. He is a complete receiver who we expect to have a big senior year
