With one month away from the start of the 2025 high school football season, teams and players are still tuning up for a year that promise to be competitive.

With an eight-month off-season, there has been plenty of time of these prospects to work on their craft – not only playing the position that will get them to the next level but also enhancing their teams.

Prospects who play multiple positions have always been valuable to any program – and while they may be recruited at a certain spot – their contributions as team players can always make a difference.

Today, with the Class of 2026 squarely on the clock for colleges and universities, we look at some versatile seniors that may be listed at one position, but you would be surprised at what else they can to help a team win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1788623' first='Steven' last='Amorosino'], 6'1, 175, Jupiter Christian. 3.9 GPA. 1500 SAT. Talk about someone who gets it done on either side of the ball and in the classroom, this quality talent can play receiver, safety, outside linebacker and on special teams. Defensively, he is not only a solid tackler but has shown that he has cover skills which will open doors at the next level. Finished last season with 36 total tackles, three interceptions, three tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries as well as a blocked kick and blocked point after attempt.

[player_tooltip player_id='1790340' first='Gerald' last='Dennis'] Jr., 6'3, 180, Boynton Beach. Linebacker, safety, receiver and just about anywhere you want to put this impressive athlete who is a strong tackler on the defensive side of the ball. Someone who is not afraid to put his body in there to make plays. He is usually the first player on the scene to make a play or slow down the flow. He has also shown that if he needs to move to the offensive side of the ball or play on special teams he will do it.

[player_tooltip player_id='1790363' first='Mathan' last='Hill'], 6'2, 215, Dunedin. Another of those versatile prospects that will do everything possible to make a difference on the defensive side of the ball. While he is a linebacker at this level, and perhaps in college, if he is needed to come off the edge and play the defensive end position, he will do it. The first thing you notice about this quality player is his vision and ability to read the flow of the play – often before it begins, which is something that truly separates him from others. While his strength is as a run-stopper, he can drop back in pass coverage if needed, picking up the running back out of the backfield. In addition to what he does on defense, this is player who will also step up his game to block a kick or extra point.

[player_tooltip player_id='1790396' first='Braylen' last='Maples'], 6'1, 190, Tampa Plant. On a team loaded with players and solid coaching, here is that student/athlete that fits right in with what the Panthers are doing on the field. An outside linebacker who is also a quality strong safety. The first thing you notice about this young man is how he rises to the occasion wherever he is on the field. As a tackler on defense or special teams performer, he is indeed right there to make a play. His vision and ability to pick up the flow of a play is not only beneficial to him, but also helps him lead by example, giving other players an opportunity to follow a true student of the game. He will be a huge part of this defense in 2025. Has started to pick up college interest as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1793437' first='Keondre' last='Ward'], 6'0, 200, Fort Pierce Westwood – 3.0 GPA. While he is indeed a pure linebacker – with impressive tackling skills and the ability to read plays from the beginning, this is indeed a player who can fill in wherever needed as this program makes a coaching change this coming season. Coming off a quality junior season and a spring and summer that started to open some eyes for colleges across the country. He plays this game with plenty of passion and energy and will make that play the team needs to make a major impact. He is a run stopper who is not afraid to get after the quarterback in blitz packages. He continues to elevate his game. He is also a wrestler!
