Top Defensive Back Prospects Heading Into 2025

<p>With the season right around the corner, we take a look at the top defensive backs in the Natural State. Most, if not all, of these prospects will be playing on Saturdays in 2026. Here are ten defensive backs to watch. Williams displays good read-and-react ability, with the ability to change direction quickly due to good fluidity and burst to break on the ball against the run and make tackles in space. He is a fluid defensive back with a very good sideline-to-sideline motor and good athletic ability. Good mental processing due to pre- and post-snap reading. Austin displays good footwork and technique with very good hip fluidity in his backpedal and transitions to stick with his man vertically or on breaks, staying inside the hip pocket of the receiver and not allowing any room for separation. Has solid recovery speed coupled with notable ball skills and good use of hands. Good read-and-react skills, highlighted by his change of direction and acceleration, enabling him to attack downhill vs the run or arrive at the catch point to disrupt the pass, force a PBU or INT. This allows him to identify his target in zone coverage, enabling him to arrive at the catch point and force a PBU or INT. Overall, he showcases solid footwork and fluidity, allowing him to transition quickly on the field.
