On Saturday, May 10th, 2025 I was welcomed back for the third year in a row to cover Coach Nick Pennisi‘s PSR Big Camp Series hosted at Monroe High School in Monroe, New Jersey. As I have come to expect, this event was packed with participation, loaded with talent, and ran extremely well.

Different than other events, Pennisi opted to have three different check-in times, based on position groupings. This afforded me the opportunity to get a closer look at many of the prospects in attendance. Below are just some of my notes on the position group mentioned in this article's title.

[player_tooltip player_id='1271503' first='Robert' last='Yakovchuk'] has been a name I am familiar with since last year's Trenchlab Gauntlet. Now at St. John Vianney and under the tutelage of the legendary offensive line coach Don Sofilkanich, I started to see the more outstanding, subtle parts of his offensive line. In order to generate power and drive through the ground, I noticed Yakovchuk pushing off of his instep throughout competition... Delsea's [player_tooltip player_id='1666783' first='Anthony' last='Ribchinsky'] had an strong showing as well at camp. Ribchinsky did an outstanding job of keeping his hands going and working to keep defenders at bay. He also had a good motor to him with his feet, never relenting or letting up.

Perhaps the most towering prospect in attendance was Donovan Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='1693382' first='Robert' last='Pissott']. Pissott showed very strong hands, grabbing cloth tight inside and applying vice-grip pressure when he used the clamp technique; he also was able to anchor himself well. I hope to see Pissott's pad level improve some. For as large of a human being he is, he can prove to be vulnerable against defenders that understand how to play with superior leverage... Pad level is also something [player_tooltip player_id='1547525' first='Aidan' last='Lane'] can stand to improve, but beyond that there is much to like about this Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldog. Protecting pass rush lanes is not a problem for Lane, as he alternated between kick-stepping and power sliding flawlessly. It is worth noting that if defenders wished to take the outside lane, he had no problem riding them upfield and past the quarterback.

I liked the level of anticipation and weaponization of knowing the snap count that [player_tooltip player_id='1140615' first='Joey' last='Lucas'] brought to the tape. As an Ironman of Don Bosco, this 6'3" 295lb rising sophomore anticipated the snap count very well, forcing the issue and bringing the fight to his opponent. Further, when asked to pull I thought that Lucas gained a great deal of ground when doing so, getting to the point of attack and his assignment extremely quickly... It seems as though [player_tooltip player_id='1693383' first='Treyvon' last='Hunt'] has been hitting the weights this offseason, particularly on Mondays - or International Chest Day as I like to call it. Hunt can wrangle and win up top, never losing a matchup I saw, when defenders try him high. That said, I urge him to work agilities and ladders, as I thought his lower was a bit too still at moments and needed to move quicker.

If you are going to talk the talk, you best be able to walk the walk. [player_tooltip player_id='1693384' first='Issiah' last='Thomas'] brought a little feistiness to offensive line play as he challenged, called out, and attempted to be a regulator. Thomas' aggression showed out when he attacked the neutral zone, declaring that territory his, and also was a stone wall when defenders tried to rush him down the middle rather than half of a man, and is big enough to recovery when cross faced. At moments it seemed like Thomas was playing on the balls of his feet, which he needs to be mindful of... In a quick glimpse of [player_tooltip player_id='910200' first='Max' last='Markho'], I thought the rising junior needed to be more patient in his approach. I noticed him shoot his arms to punch a bit too early, which caused him to lunge a bit. Sit back, be patient, and wait for the defense to get closer before you strike quickly and powerfully like a venomous snake.

In what was perhaps one of the more impressive plays made amongst the offensive lineman we look to [player_tooltip player_id='1646022' first='Jase' last='Catullo'] from Chatham. Why Catullo deserves this praise is because many feel the long arm, when done right, is an unstoppable pass rush move - yet Catullo managed to stop it. Catullo was actually able to anchor himself to stop this move. Additionally, I thought that he powered down quickly and, therefore, does a nice job protecting the inside. With a bit of a nasty streak to him, Catullo looks to finish his blocks by driving his matchup into the ground. I feel as though Catullo would be well served to clean up his technique when powering down, rather than focusing on rapidly getting to that inside gap.
