PRZNE ’27 Rankings Update Film Breakdown: 5 Offensive Risers

We have just completed the largest update to the Nebraska Class of 2027 rankings, resulting in over 100 new names in our database and a completely revamped rankings list. To cover some of the new players and risers, I will provide positional overviews that offer a quick breakdown of the top players in each group, as well as share any relevant recruiting news on those prospects. Keep an eye out, as we will also be conducting player evaluations, where I will provide a more in-depth game tape breakdown as part of the update coverage.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    <a href="https://x.com/SageTooShifty" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">(@SageTooShifty)</a>   Junior RB [player_tooltip player_id='1085197' first='Sage' last='Giddings'] has been on a tear this offseason with a strong camp cycle and what should be a bigger role on a new team. Sage was a Swiss-Army Knife player at Omaha South last season, where he led the team in passing and rushing, with a total of 395 passing yards, 437 rushing yards, 40 receiving yards, a passing touchdown, four rushing touchdowns, and a receiving touchdown. Now at Westview, it looks like Sage will be able to focus solely on playing running back offensively. Giddings has a strong, compact frame at 5'9", 200 pounds that is tough to bring down on initial contact, especially when he gets his powerful base churning for more yardage. Watching Sage at some of our showcases, I was very impressed with how quick and agile he is, showing that he can work well in tight quarters by making swift cuts. Good footwork and balance. Also, don't sleep on Sage as a receiving threat out of the backfield; he's proven to have great hands and can create separation. This upcoming season has "Breakout" written all over it for Sage!      <a href="https://x.com/HarbZane" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">(@HarbZane)</a>   The Northwest Vikings look to bounce back strong after an up-and-down 2024 season. They return a ton of great players, including junior [player_tooltip player_id='1085631' first='Zane' last='Harb'], who will be looked at to make an impact on offense and defense. As a sophomore, Zane was flying all over the field after recording 79 tackles, six TFLs, three sacks, and two interceptions. He also finished second on the team in rushing with 55 carries for 283 yards and four touchdowns. Despite also playing offense, I see Zane playing linebacker at the next level, where he has projectable size at 6'2" and 190 lbs with room to continue filling out his frame. Zane reads his keys very well, combining his snap decision-making and quick first step to fill in gaps against the run. He's a force who can blow up RBs in the hole using good technique and power to secure the tackle. Harb also proved to be comfortable in coverage, using his lateral quickness to keep up with receivers.      <a href="https://x.com/xaviercmoore" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">(@xaviercmoore)</a>   It might be hard to find a more versatile offensive lineman in the 2027 class than Nebraska City's [player_tooltip player_id='1085915' first='Xavier' last='Moore']. Xavier played every spot on the offensive line except center, showing that he can not just switch from left to right, but can be a bookend or interior blocker. Despite being "undersized" by some recruiting metrics, it's hard to overlook Moore's technique and physicality on the field. He is very good at using his natural leverage to keep his base and pads low as he shoots his hands and forces defenders to stand up out of their stance. Once engaged, Xavier's legs are constantly pumping as he drives defenders off the ball. Moore also plays with a mean streak as he's always looking to finish his blocks in the dirt and will continue playing through the whistle. Good mobility and footwork. Solid skillset for only going into his junior season.      <a href="https://x.com/cadestix16" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">(@cadestix16)</a>   Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1085649' first='Cade' last='Stix'] had a promising showing in his first full season as QB1 for the Ralston Rams. As a sophomore, Cade completed 57% of his passes for 918 yards and six touchdowns, while also contributing 272 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. Watching Cade's tape, my biggest takeaway was how comfortable he looks running the offense, whether having to make quick reads on play action/RPOs, rolling out of the pocket, or sitting tough to deliver quick passes under pressure; he didn't seem fazed. Stix demonstrates the footwork to maneuver well within the pocket and can buy time for his receivers by extending plays with his legs. Cade had some very impressive throws, where he showed his accuracy and arm strength by fitting the ball into tight windows and putting it right on the money. With two more seasons to continue growing his game and developing physically, Cade could be someone to buy stock in early!      <a href="https://x.com/kolbyNowak" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">(@kolbyNowak)</a>   Despite not finishing the season as they had hoped, Ogallala returns a good group of players from last year's squad, including what should be one of the better 1-2 RB duos. The younger half of the duo is junior Kolby Kowak, who is a taller, bigger RB at 6'1" and 195 pounds. He finished his sophomore campaign with 128 carries, 597 yards, and a rushing touchdown. One of my biggest takeaways from Kolby's tape was his insane contact balance and strength to power through tackle attempts. He's a very tough runner who can take the ball north and south with the ability to bounce runs to the outside or cut back when he finds a crease. Nowak also tallied 48 tackles and two TFLs on defense.
