Preseason Review - Lake Travis Cavaliers

Lake Travis, a powerhouse in Central Texas football, is once again poised to make noise heading into the 2025 season. The Cavaliers wrapped up last year with an impressive 12-2 overall record and a strong 5-1 showing in district play, reinforcing their reputation as one of the elite programs in the state. Under the leadership of veteran head coach Hank Carter, Lake Travis continues to reload with talent and championship-level expectations. He put together an outstanding 2024 campaign, racking up 86 total tackles with 46 solo stops, 17 tackles for loss, and even found the end zone on a receiving touchdown showcasing his athleticism and versatility. Carter's relentless motor, physicality in the trenches, and ability to disrupt plays make him a nightmare for opposing offenses. With leaders like him on both sides of the ball, the Cavaliers have the foundation to make another deep postseason run in 2025.      Vann exploded onto the scene with a monster season in 2024. He rushed for over 1,700 yards and found the end zone 29 times, consistently gashing defenses with his vision, balance, and burst. Vann runs with a combination of power and patience, making him tough to bring down and a constant big play threat. Currently committed to Princeton, he brings not only elite production but also a high football acumen and leadership presence in the backfield.      Wesley adds another dynamic layer to the Lake Travis backfield. He's a tough, downhill runner who brings physicality and energy every time he touches the ball. Wesley excels at picking up tough yards between the tackles and isn't afraid to lower his shoulder to finish runs. His ability to wear down defenses and keep the chains moving makes him a valuable complement in the run game, giving the Cavaliers a strong one two punch at the position. Glass had over 600 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns.        Lark is a versatile playmaker for Lake Travis, contributing on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and defensive back. Offensively, he's a reliable target with strong hands, sharp route running, and the ability to stretch the field. What stands out to me is his way of tracking the ball in the air. On defense, Lark brings physicality and awareness in coverage. Lark had over 37 Receptions for 500 yards and 7 touchdowns.      Patrick emerged as a dependable target in the Lake Travis passing game, finishing the season with over 600 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. He has a knack for getting open in space, using crisp routes and strong hands to make key catches in clutch moments. Whether it's moving the chains or making plays in the red zone, Patrick consistently delivered and added balance to the Cavaliers' offensive attack. His continued growth will be a big asset heading into 2025.      Ben, a defensive lineman committed to the Kentucky Wildcats, was a key force in the trenches for Lake Travis. He finished the season with 61 total tackles, including 13 solo stops and 5 tackles for loss.
