On this week's "Recruiting with Andrew Nemec" on ESPN-affiliate 105.1 The Fan, Prep RedZone's Jordan Johnson joined the show to discuss the risers and fallers in the states of Oregon and Washington.

While both states are a little down compared to a decade ago, there's plenty of hope.

Oregon's top teams, namely West Linn and Central Catholic, have beaten top Washington teams in recent years, while the young crop of athletes is expected to be a good core.

And while there's been a small dip at both Jesuit and Central Catholic, Lake Oswego and West Linn remain loaded.

The Lions, which graduated 11 first-team all-league players last year, are still a legit state title contender despite losing more than half of its star-studded roster.

After losing to West Linn in the state title game a year ago, the Lakers are perhaps the state title favorites, led by All-American-caliber running back LaMarcus Bell.

Retool. Not Rebuild.

While Washington has experienced a small dip since producing elite talents Budd Baker (Bellevue; 2014), Jacob Eason (Lake Stevens; 2016), Emeka Egbuka (Steilacoom; 2021), J.T. Tuimoloau (Eastside Catholic; 2021) and Josh Conerly Jr. (Rainier Beach; 2022), there's strong belief that the up-and-coming group of 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th graders could produce some truly remarkable talent.

In terms of gameday atmosphere, no one in the area is better than Camas, which feels like a Texas high school football environment on Friday nights.
