A new name I was fired up about in the 2027 North Dakota that is one we have only seen during camp season, is Carrington 2027 offensive linemen Andrew Matt. The verified 6'5 just over 270 pounder was hard to miss from the eye-test alone, and right away impressed me with how coachable he was as an offensive linemen that seemed to grasp new knowledge easily and put that knowledge to good use during his 1v1 reps. Andrew also showed off during those 1v1 reps, that he doesn't just have the attention to detail, he has the football IQ to match as one coaching improvement I witnessed was with his hand placement and once he was able to figure out I felt like he went from 0 to 100 with putting it in play, as not only was the hand-placement improved, Andrew was able to drive more leverage quicker and it brought out the aggression quickly with the punches he was able to land towards the end of 1v1s. He surely is a small town hidden gem

Colin Stiley, OL, Pleasant Valley, CA 2027 Twitter

One of the only non-Midwest prospects that caught my attention hailed from California, as Pleasant Valley (Chico, CA) 2027 offensive linemen Colin Stiley was an attention-getter to me at NDSU. The 6'3 250 pounder during 1v1s showed off showed off power in his hands that played way outside his measurables as two particular reps that I watched, Colin was able to drive block into the second level with a fast first step, quick hitting hands, great pad-level and outstanding leverage against bigger plenty of bigger competition. He'll be one out of Cali, I will be sure to track over the coming years as I like the trend upwards where his growth could take him.

Atreyu Bartch, DL, West Fargo Sheyenne, ND 2027 Twitter

Atreyu is one that is a new name that has now stood out at multiple camps in the Dakotas this summer, as we will start off with what we saw from the West Fargo Sheyenne 2027 product at NDSU. I was impressed with how quickly his foot speed was able to fire out as a pull-blocker in the first reps I watched out of Atreyu. Not only was the foot speed on point, but the constant fluidity Atreyu brought out on every rep was impressive. It also didn't take long to see that Atreyu brings a blue collar mentality to his reps, as I loved watching this kid's motor at work in Fargo. The 6'3 260 pounder already has picked up his first offer last weekend as one I surely need to get on my 2027 North Dakota board ASAP.

Gavin Holt, OL, Carroll, IA 2026 Twitter

A new name I learned about out of the state of Iowa at the NDSU prospect camp, was Gavin Holt out of Carroll (IA). The 6'1 250 pounder might not have been the biggest offensive linemen in the group, but showed off to be tough as nails in the offensive trenches. He thrived in my eyes from a few technical skillsets, one area was with his hand placement as he was pure with his pad-level as well. Another area where Gavin caught my attention was the power generation he had as a drive blocker, as that technique set him up for success against bigger competition he went up against in the OL group. Not surprisely, Gavin holds three NAIA offers, two which come from some of the best programs at that NAIA level.

[player_tooltip player_id='674709' first='Alex' last='Meece'], DL, Fargo Davies, ND 2026 Twitter

Alex was one that I had back in May as an "Upwards Trender" in this DL group in the 2026 North Dakota rankings, and logging two offers since this June, he surely showed why he is trending in the right direction and the live eval I got in Fargo shows it. Amongst the North Dakotans in attendance, there was not a defensive end that had more tenacity with their hands than Alex as the feisty yet balanced physicality Alex showed with his hands were on point in our live eval. Where I have seen the progression over the last six months plus is not only in the power department, but the hand speed has gotten more eruptive in my eyes which was surely the case at NDSU. I wouldn't be surprised if Alex got more NSIC attention this summer as one that I feel is peaking at the absoulute right time.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235835' first='Edly' last='Amaro'], DL, Yankton, SD 2026 Twitter

Edly is a defensive end out of Yankton that has gotten on my radar at a few prospect camps this summer, but by far the best live eval I got from him came up at the second NDSU prospect camp. The 6'4 235 pounder out of Yankton, has grown more comfortable from the live eval in Fargo with the use of his hands, as I saw it mostly with his hand placement and has developed a better timing with his striking ability which showed true during 1v1 reps. Another area from Edly that I noticed improvement at NDSU, is his coachability as the speed of picking up new or revised skillsets has improved at a quicker speed. He has plenty of upside left to give in the coming years, as his best football to me is a year or two ahead of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1256228' first='Eddie' last='Miles'], DL, Andover, MN 2026 Twitter

Eddie was a a 2026 defensive linemen I got some early eyes on during the fall season of the upside that was there. As we fast forward to almost 6-7 months, later, that upside has blossomed confidently when I watched him during the live eval at the second NDSU prospect camp. Where has the growth shown? You would have to had watched his hands closely in the trenches, as the versatile moves he showed off getting into the backfield look way more natural than what we saw during the 2024 fall season showing the strides Eddie has made. It's evidently clear that the college coaches are seeing that progression too, as he's up to five offers as we hit into the end of June.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602698' first='Peyton' last='Allen'], DL, Sartell, MN 2026 Twitter

Last but surely not least to round out the DL group, we took a look during 1v1s at the second NDSU prospect camp at a 2026 DL prospect that has been picking up great steam over the last couple of months, which is [player_tooltip player_id='1602698' first='Peyton' last='Allen'] out of Sartell. If you want to meet one of the best workhorses I saw with his hands, Peyton is one you need to know from NDSU as I felt he was one that was battle-tested by the coaches in the DL group, and it paid off dividends not only by getting a couple offers after the fact, but he showed off the coachability he has at his disposal from working his tail off in every rep I watched, showing off a blue-collar work ethic in my eyes. He was a hot commodity in the month of June on his recruiting trail too, loading four offers at the D2 and one at the D1 level.
