As the college camp circuit started winding down in late June, coaches in Lafayette held their second annual "Under the Lights" camp to kick off July with another opportunity of local athletes to work and compete.

And several standouts from schools around the area were eye-catchers during the action at Lafayette Renaissance Charter.

The tall, long pass-catcher started to catch Prep Redzone Louisiana's attention on the 7-on-7 circuit this spring and has earned early Tulane and Vanderbilt offers this summer. And he quickly stood out at the camp even in position drill work as he smoothly worked his way around cones and made even one-handed grabs look nonchalant and routine.

In a quarterback group that appeared to include a few younger passers, "K.J." was a clear standout with his focus, consistent footwork and largely accurate performance, including some nice deep throws placed to give his receivers opportunities to go get the ball while minimizing risks of defensive plays.

One of the most familiar names at the event and on this list, the Wreckin' Rams' rising junior standout showcased the crafty route-running, explosive burst and strong hands even through contact that have all helped make him so productive already as an underclassman and one of the state's 2027 prospects who received early recruiting attention.

Right with DiBetta in terms of quicker, crisper route-runners who were able to consistently break themselves free, Duhon earned honors as the top-performing receiver at his home-field event. The smaller, speedy athlete, who recently earned an offer from Centenary, was among the fastest players at the event.

The former Teurlings Catholic standout has found a new home at Acadiana where he brings a taller target with good vertical speed and the ability to go up and win most jump-ball plays. Gallien was among the top receivers at "Under the Lights" and showcased, in addition to his athleticism and ball skills, his confidence and some fiery competitive drive to win every rep.

[player_tooltip player_id='1736877' first='Khamari' last='Jackson'] — 5-11, 155 DB — Lafayette Renaissance Charter (2026)

The home team swept the top performer honors with Jackson's effort on defense. The rising senior was as consistent as any cornerback at the event, whether keeping up with some of the aforementioned smaller, quicker receivers or battling Gallien in some of the more intense, physical reps of the night.

Another of the top defensive players at the event, the younger brother of Sage Ryan, the former LSU defensive back now at Ole Miss, has stood out from an early age with his length, patience and instincts. And while he continues to work on his starting form to improve his 40-yard dash time, he appears to run better in actual football context and in more competitive settings than his early times would suggest — as evidenced by his coming out on top of the head-to-head 40-yard races to earn the distinction of fastest man at the camp.
