More incoming from the UW-Oshkosh Lake Show MEGA Camp last week in Oshkosh as we move to two of the most undervalued positions In my eyes on both sides of the ball. You watch the NFL or any football, you see commonly cornerbacks not catching a break from officials, fans, etc. and on the other side of the ball, you have seen many teams that have shy away from the fullback position which is unfortunate to me, as there are so many fullback greats I can recall throughout my lifetime. We uncork our live evals from the cornerbacks and even though a small group, the fullback that caught our attention in Oshkosh last week.

One of the more intriguing 2026 cornerbacks that caught my attention in Oshkosh, was Martin Luther Jerenuag Valdez-Sholar. On every rep I got to watch and it didn't matter which drill he was in either, this young man showed off a high football IQ that was evident in the live eval. His lateral movement popped down to the ball with tight angles, a downhill presence, and physical pursuit on contact. The 5'10 170 pounder flashed with a 4.49 40-yard dash and 4..38 on the pro agility to match my eye test as a DB that has picked up steam with scholarship offers in the last few months and should continue to trend upwards.

Another defensive back from the state of Wisconsin that has a few Lacrosse offers but still waiting on football offers that impressed me at the Lake Show MEGA Camp was [player_tooltip player_id='1610190' first='Alex' last='Ciak'] of Green Bay Notre Dame Academy. This young man was one of the best finishers I saw in every defensive back rep I watched in Oshkosh as a corner that plays with clearly high stamina based on my live eval I got. He was one defensive back that was always in the right spot at the right time when I watched his ball-tracking. The 5'8 170 pounder ran a 4.59 40-yard dash, 7.38 in the L-drill, and 4.53 in the shuttle as one that the eval told me he can surely play on Saturdays.

Julian Busse, DB, Berlin, WI 2027 Twitter

One of only a few 2027s that caught my attention in the defensive back group, was Berlin's Julian Busse. This young man possessed a sudden blast of a burst to the ball that caught my attention as the testing numbers tell the tail too for Julian, running a 4.55 in the 40-yard dash, as the translated game speed was intriguing. He also showed off from the eye test, a long striding lower body for his 5'10 160 pound frame that looks like he he could grow a bit still in my eyes in the coming years. Julian was one of the only 2027s that was clutch with his footwork, as there was no wasted steps with this kid whether I was watching him track the ball or get downhill in space. Surely a 2027 to watch out of Central Wisconsin.

Another 2026 cornerback that was in my top-tier group at the Lake Show Mega Camp was [player_tooltip player_id='1610136' first='Simonique' last='Carter'] Jr of Milwaukee Rufus King. This young man played with a 1v1 presence that you could not miss on. He was one of the most physical yet composed corners I watched in Oshkosh last Friday. He ran an impressive 4.75 in the 40-yard dash, but one of the big things that stuck out about Simonique was how long his wingspan was for his 5'9 166 pound frame. I watched a few reps where Simonique utilzed the long reach well to get in the passing lanes with a PBU that sometimes came out of nowhere, but again his presence was known on every rep I watched. A corner out of Rufus King that should have more attention in my eyes.

Cyrus Leisure, CB, Rhinelander, WI 2026 Twitter

Cyrus is one of a couple Rhinelander Hodags that caught my attention on our couple days of camps in Wisconsin with the other being [player_tooltip player_id='1804564' first='Caden' last='Sieker'] the day before at the UWEC Big Man Camp. Cyrus showed off enticing change of direction when the wide receiver made their cut on their route and was right with the bulk of them in the reps I watched consistently. He also was one of the longer 2026 cornerbacks I got to watch which make the length I gathered from the eye test, even more impressive for a 2026 prospect that mostly has RB tape, but has a sound upside at cornerback at the next-level. Cyrus was labeled as one of Way Up North's gems of this 2026 class, as Cyrus is another cornerback that is under the radar with just one WIAC offer.

There wasn't a big group of fullbacks in Oshkosh, but the one that caught my attention from the state of Illinois is Providence Catholic's 2026 Joey Levy. From testing, Indy drills, and 1v1s, Joey had the "head down, go to work" demeanor working his favor from my live eval. This young man was an excellent route-runner for a fullback as I was impressed with how much seperation he was able to gauge especially on cutting routes. Joey brought a constant fluidity to everything he did with his reps last Friday in Oshkosh which great to see live. I also felt Joey was one of the more efficient fullbacks in Oshkosh as a run-blocker, as he showed off well-versed pad level and solid strength when he made contact. One that has a few D3 offers from the state of Wisconsin and Illinois with I am sure more coming his way this summer.
