Top Ball Carriers and linebackers from SBU camp.

SBU prospect camp held one of the best events in the Southwest Missouri area. I want to feature almost every athlete that attended the camp, it really was that great of a camp in Bolivar, Missouri.   In this article were going to jump back and forth between the offensive and defensive side of the ball. These six young, very talented football players really showed what it takes to play college football.    A physically impressive prospect from North County High school is Logan Mccarty.   Whenever you watch Mccarty play the game of football you get the feel of a classic run-stopping in the box type of linebacker. Mccarty is that and so much more, Mccarty is a very athletic MLB that showed that he has the capability to drop back into coverage rather its zone or man. He ran very well in all the drills conducted by the SBU coaches and left Bolivar, Missouri with a very lasting impression on everyone in attendance.   Mccarty has definitely landed on my radar to watch going into his senior year and I am not the only person that's going to watch this young man very closely.     A super quick twitched-up linebacker is [player_tooltip player_id='1250643' first='Jacob' last='Smith'].   If you're looking for a hard-working sideline to sideline pursuing linebacker Smith is your man. Smith ran a respectable 5.01 40-yard dash, paired with showing off explosive change of direction in the 5-10-5 drill. He is your prototypical see ball, go get ball type of player that every defensive coordinator loves and every offensive coordinator fears.   Smith is rolling into his senior year, and I have a feeling were going to continue to keep hearing good things about Mr. [player_tooltip player_id='1250643' first='Jacob' last='Smith'].     [player_tooltip player_id='1689673' first='Klaustin' last='Hale'] is a movable chess piece.   What separates Hale from the other linebackers in this article is his ability to not only play a traditional linebacker role but also give some good pass rushing reps out on the edge. I was admittedly unfamiliar with Hale prior to him having an outstanding camp in Bolivar. So, I decided to do my homework, and watch a little bit of film. After the film review, I came to the conclusion that every bit of his explosiveness he displayed at camp translates to the football field in full pads.   Hale has one more year to show he can contribute to a college football roster and I'm confident he will have a great senior season.     A very well-rounded athlete that plays with a little "juice". Brandon Webb is ready for the next step.   A north and south downhill type of runner from Eureka, Missouri Webb is a pretty impressive athlete. In individual position drills he showed off lightning-fast feet for a back of his size. He followed that up by having an eye opening 1 on 1 session. Webb had some pretty good grabs against some very good coverage linebackers in camp.   Brandon Webb is entering his junior year after having a pretty good sophomore year for the wildcats. So, we get to enjoy his growth for two more years.       Probably the fastest back at SBU prospect camp Williams did nothing short but have every coach and scout talking about him.   [player_tooltip player_id='1684394' first='Reyon' last='Williams'] ran a blistering fast 4.54 40-yard dash that had SBU coaches shaking their heads in approval. Williams is a unique athlete that has the capabilities of playing linebacker and running back. I watched him take reps at running back in camp and cause all types of problems for opposing linebackers trying to cover him in 1 on 1's. Then I went home and turned on his tape and saw him play a LB/Rover type position on defense which left me very impressed by the way he can flip his hips and run down ball carriers.   It's hard to pinpoint a distinct position for Williams but that is not a bad thing because he is very good at both positions. I'm very excited to see [player_tooltip player_id='1684394' first='Reyon' last='Williams'] play the next two years.     Earning his very first college offer from SBU camp, Highley definitely deserves this offer and many more.   This is my second time giving Highley a write-up which is out of the ordinary for me, but he just kept making plays at camp. Highley moves so effortlessly on the football field, he gets in and out of his breaks so smoothly its quite impressive. During the 1 on 1 period there was one rep when the defensive back got the best of him on an out route and afterwards while walking back, he said " I'm not losing another one" and he stayed true to that promise by not losing another rep the rest of the camp.   I will go on to say that I believe that [player_tooltip player_id='1585617' first='Khasye' last='Highley'] is the best back in southwest Missouri and I think that if he continues his production he could move up the ranks to one of the best in Missouri.
