<p><strong>SANTA FE</strong> – The Santa Fe Demons hosted the annual Capital City Jamboree Thursday night at picturesque Ivan Head Stadium. The four participating teams were Santa Fe, Capital, St. Michael's and Espanola Valley.</p>

<p>The start of the events was delayed by nearly an hour by lightning. As a result, the scheduled 5:30 p.m. start was pushed back to 6:25 p.m.</p>

<p>Two of the four teams are led by first-year head coaches: Adrian Gonzales at Santa Fe and Caleb Holbrook at Espanola Valley. Gonzales was previously the head coach at West Las Vegas before joining the SFHS staff last season. Holbrook, a college quarterback at Oklahoma Panhandle State, was an assistant at Los Alamos in 2024. </p>

<p>Physically, the most impressive athlete on the field was 6-foot-4, 225-pound Santa Fe rising senior TE/DL <strong>Leyton Opare</strong>, who's also an elite wrestler. Opare is expected to be a major contributor to the Demons' offense this season.</p>

<p>All four schools are participating in the Bernalillo 7x7 Jamboree on Saturday along with more than a dozen other schools. </p>
