Recruiting: 2028 Sandia RB offered by Colorado State

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's always a big deal when a New Mexico prospect is offered by a FBS program. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>2028 Sandia RB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1613284' first='George' last='Smith']</strong> has yet to play a down for the Matadors after transferring from Class 3A Robertson but he was recently offered by Colorado State, which is joining the new look Pac-12 in 2026. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Smith is Prep Redzone's No. 1 prospect in the 2028 class. He is a dazzling two-sport athlete in football and basketball. Last fall, he showed he could run the football, catch it out of the backfield and excel on special teams as a kick returner for the Cardinals. He helped lead Robertson to the Class 3A boys basketball title in March.
