The 2025 football season will be here before we know it.

Over the course of the next two months, teams will participate in workouts galore leading up to the start of preseason camp. And while the summer is sure to include mass transfers - thanks to the SCHSL's new policy - we have enough information to start making some educated assumptions about each team's likely MVP.

Region V-3A won't be immune to some of that continued movement. But these six players are the odds-on favorites to lead their squads in 2025.

AYNOR BLUE JACKETS

[player_tooltip player_id='1734403' first='Luke' last='McCracken'] QB, 2026

Just last week, McCracken went for 100-plus rushing yards in the Blue Jackets' spring game. Earth-shattering? Of course, not. But after he tallied 500 rushing yards and another 500 passing yards in the regular season as a junior, Aynor knows it has something cooking. McCracken doesn't need to break a ton of long runs to be super-productive. The offense is all about small chunks of yards over and over again. He did not lose a single fumble last season, which is why we're about to see a whole lot more of him this time around.

DILLON WILDCATS

[player_tooltip player_id='1165163' first='Zamaurious' last='Robertson'] WR, 2026

Everything we've seen from Dillon over the last few years tells us the Wildcats are going to try to run over and through defenses. But what we also haven't seen during that span is a receiver quite like Robertson. He caught 63 passes for 948 yards and nine touchdowns last fall. And that was before the Wildcats started breaking in their quarterback of the future. Robertson is about to be both the team's biggest home run threat and its best safety valve all wrapped up in one. That spells out a big season for the rising senior.

GEORGETOWN BULLDOGS

[player_tooltip player_id='1734397' first='Trenton' last='Parker'] ATH, 2026

Even last year, when the Bulldogs were still struggling come region play, we saw signs of Parker starting to find ways to maximize his own potential. Georgetown uses him as a tailback and receiver, and there's a good chance he'll be contribution on special teams and defense when possible, too. He's got the vision to make his long stride count, especially when he's got the ball in his hands. The Bulldogs' staff knows his skill set can be the difference in a close game, and maybe even equate to another win or two.

LORIS LIONS

[player_tooltip player_id='797160' first='Moon' last='Gerald'] QB, 2026

We could have gone with any number of players on either side of the ball for the Lions, but we picked Gerald (pictured) because for as much talent as Loris is bringing to the table, the second-year starter might be the key to a whole bunch of electricity on offense. His decision making is already sound. He's got the necessary arm strength to get the ball where it needs to be. Most importantly, he proved how steady he could keep a big ol' diet of running backs happy.

MARLBORO COUNTY BULLDOGS

[player_tooltip player_id='905534' first='Jaden' last='Ashe'] DL, 2027

Ashe chimed in a bit smaller than we were expecting during the combines this spring, but even at a verified 6-foot-1 and 206 pounds, the edge rusher has the chance to be truly special. Because while he got very little actual playing time as a sophomore while playing behind a Division-I signee, dealing with an injury and Marlboro County's large-scale eligibility issues that cost the Bulldogs a playoff berth, he's on the cusp of being a day-in, day-out game changer. If he blows up over the next six months, don't be shocked.

WACCAMAW WARRIORS

[player_tooltip player_id='473016' first='AJ' last='Grate'] ATH, 2026

Linebacker. Defensive Back. Tailback. H-Back. Receiver. Direct snaps. Grate has learned to wear different hats for the Warriors. And for as much as he's done over his first three years playing for Waccamaw, we know he hasn't shown his full potential yet. What he did at the Carolinas Coaches Combines proved just how far he's come physically while shouldering that prior work load. The best part of his game is how he disguises all of his skill sets, most importantly his burst, until it's too late.
