There is quite a bit of talent in region III-4A in the Midlands and Catawba River Region as our team MVP series rolls along, including the No. 1 player in the Prep Redzone Class of 2026 rankings, and all of these players will be looking to make some noise for their teams heading into 2025.

Here are our picks for MVP in region III-4A:

AC FLORA FALCONS

[player_tooltip player_id='1025784' first='Roper' last='Wentzky'] QB, 2026

After throwing for 2,684 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2024, the two-sport star returns for his senior campaign in 2025. Wentzky excels in the quick passing game in being able to scan the field and find his receivers open, particularly near the sideline. The awareness and presence in the pocket is impressive as he's able to step into the throws accurately. He can launch it deep and put it where only his receiver can get it. He currently holds an offer from East Tennessee State, and we anticipate that the offer list could grow.

CAMDEN BULLDOGS

[player_tooltip player_id='1165092' first='Tylin' last='Drakeford'] ATH, 2026

Drakeford did a little bit of everything for the Bulldogs in 2024, with 950 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns along with 132 rushing yards while rushing and passing for two touchdowns each. He can track the ball well at defensive back, reading the quarterback's eyes and making plays on the ball when the opportunity presents itself. On offense, we saw him line up at the wildcat position and follow his blockers into the endzone. He has great hands at receiver as well as he can leap in the air and make catches. He has multiple Power Four offers, including Troy, South Florida, Liberty and Georgia Southern to name a few.

DREHER BLUE DEVILS

Kendall Brown RB, 2026

Brown will be one of the leaders for the Blue Devils' offense in 2025 after rushing for 262 yards and one touchdown in 2024. We expect his numbers to increase and for him to be more of a focal point as the Blue Devils look to improve from 2024.

No film available

LANCASTER BRUINS

Zyquarious Clinton QB, 2026

Clinton has nice size for the position and isn't afraid to take a hit. He can stand in the pocket and step up and make accurate throws. He excels specifically at passes over the middle and in the quick game. He can find his receivers and they will do the rest. He also does a good job of scrambling around and making plays on his feet when the play isn't there. He should be fun to watch in 2025 for the Bruins.

RICHLAND NORTHEAST CAVALIERS

[player_tooltip player_id='591391' first='Blake' last='Betette'] WR, 2026

Betette will be a leader for the Cavaliers offense in 2025, after a 2024 campaign that saw him go over 1100 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. He is dynamic in the slot to where he can find the green grass and find holes in the coverage. He runs his routes at full speed and he's tough to defend. The Cavaliers like to move him around to create some matchup problems – he's slippery once he gets out into the open field and will be a guy that defenses will have to keep their eye on and know where he is.

SOUTH POINTE STALLIONS

[player_tooltip player_id='212416' first='J'Zavien' last='Currence'] ATH, 2026

The top rated player in the PRZ Class of 2026 is currently committed to the University of South Carolina. Currence (pictured above) will be a part of a loaded South Pointe team headed into his senior season. His playmaking ability is through the roof. He can line up at quarterback, wide receiver and safety and he excels at all three. He can read quarterback's eyes well and jump routes and make interceptions. He's a good route runner and has great speed to boot as well. He is the complete package and will be fun to watch again in 2025.

YORK COUGARS

[player_tooltip player_id='1592333' first='Tayshon' last='Freeman'] QB, 2026

The first thing that jumps out about Freeman is just how big and tall he is on film. That size allows him to be able to see the field clearer and make good throws. He excels in making throws on the run and finding his receiver when the play breaks down. He has a nice velocity on his throws from his left hand. He can also make plays on designed keepers and run people over because of his size and power.
