We just looked up, and the calendar's halfway through June.

The 2025 football season is right around the corner, and a bunch of teams are getting ready to see what the season has in store.

That's particularly the case in Region II-4A, where a lot of graduation losses and some transfers have some new faces in key spots, and still more returners have a chance to boost their resume.

Here's a look at the guys who could potentially lead their teams this year.

Berea Bulldogs

Jelani Bradley LB, 2026

Bradley had a great junior year for the Bulldogs, finishing with 45 tackles, seven tackles for loss, six sacks, two pass deflections, and two fumble recoveries. He's got good speed and takes great angles to the ball, and he's a player who's got the instincts you want from a linebacker.

Blue Ridge Tigers

[player_tooltip player_id='1738823' first='Gavin' last='Forrester'] QB, 2026

Forrester is an interesting player to watch. The Tigers ran it a lot more than they threw it last season, but Forrester showed great balance. He had more than 1,600 yards of total offense, and it was split almost 50-50 run/pass, as he threw for 849 yards and ran for 841. He accounted for 18 total touchdowns, helped direct a run-heavy offense that could move it through the air when necessary, and looked like he was just scratching the surface of what he might be able to do.

Daniel Lions

[player_tooltip player_id='1094520' first='Jace' last='Grass'] QB, 2028

Talk about a guy who's gonna have all eyes on him. Grass started at Pendleton last year, and had a phenomenal freshman season. He replaces Grayson Clary, who transferred away from the Lions after a great year of his own. Grass has all the tools, as his nearly 2,000 passing yards and 18 touchdowns show. He'll look to boost those numbers even more as the latest in a line of outstanding Daniel QBs.

Greer Yellow Jackets

[player_tooltip player_id='1405166' first='Aiden' last='Jones'] DE, 2026

Jones is a beast, to put it quite simply. Last season, he terrorized opposing offenses, notching 76 tackles off the edge. On top of that, he regularly took up residence in the opposing offensive backfield, with 27 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and 26 hurries. He's a high-motor guy who seems like he never stops, and his ability to get after opposing offenses will be a key for Greer.

Pickens Blue Flame

[player_tooltip player_id='1581467' first='Brooks' last='Dow'] QB, 2027

Dow is a huge kid at 6-foot-5 and 202 pounds. He looks like a much older player, and he's starting to play like it as well. He had a nice sophomore season, and drew a ton of attention at the Spartanburg session of the Carolina Coaches Combine. Perfect pass after perfect pass had a bunch of folks asking about "the big kid". That was Dow, and he was just showing flashes of what he's able to do.

Seneca Bobcats

[player_tooltip player_id='1615026' first='Jeremiah' last='Hunter'] WR, 2028

Known to his teammates as Jerb, Hunter left a huge impression in his freshman year. He hauled in 54 catches for more than 550 yards and seven touchdowns on an offense that ran it a bunch and spread the wealth in the passing game. More than that, though, is the WAY he did it. Hunter can go and get it, but he might be at his best when he's running away from guys - and making them miss - in traffic.

Travelers Rest Devildogs

[player_tooltip player_id='1664506' first='Jayden' last='Coney'] RB, 2027

Coney can FLY. He ran times approaching 23mph during combine season, and he brings the ability to make a difference on both sides of the ball. The Devildogs can definitely take advantage of his talents, and of all of that speed.
