LSU and other colleges around the country wrapped up their summer recruiting camp slates in late June after hosting thousands of prospects on camps.

Two "elite camps" and a Friday Night Lights events are among the highlights of the Tigers' annual slate, and, as always, a slew of in-state athletes were among those who stood out among the competition.

Here are a few notes on nine of the Louisiana natives who had eye-catching performances during the month.

[player_tooltip player_id='1356159' first='Jayden' last='Anding'] — 6-0, 165 DB — Ruston (2027)

The younger brother of 2025 LSU cornerback signee Aidan Anding was among a slew of talented young in-state safeties who stood out during the program's first elite camp of the summer and ultimately earned an offer from the Tigers when he returned to the campus two weeks later for Bayou Splash visit weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='401749' first='Cole' last='Bergeron'] — 6-4, 210 QB — St. Thomas More (2026)

The Cougars' quarterback has been one of the bigger storylines for Louisiana's 2026 class wrapping up the school year and ramping up the summer. Georgia Tech, Colorado and Virginia Tech have extended offers in the past couple months, and LSU pushed to get him on campus for the program's second elite camp where he was one of the top passers on hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='1610241' first='Jude' last='Chamberlain'] — 6-5, 225 TE — Catholic (Baton Rouge) (2027)

The hometown Bears' tight end has been a notable stock-riser throughout this offseason, including a couple of camp performances at LSU in June in which he was one of the more consistent pass-catchers. Chamberlain, who worked more this spring at receiver, possesses great size for the next level and has shown the athleticism to be effective on the outside and downfield — including against top defenders at the college camps.

[player_tooltip player_id='1257121' first='Ahmad' last='Hudson'] — 6-7, 240 TE — Ruston (2027)

The multisport standout put on one of the more memorable shows in recent LSU camp history at the Friday Night Lights event with a seemingly unstopped performance creating space at every level and making highlight-reel catches look easy for him in instances in which defenders managed to contest plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='934564' first='Braylun' last='Huglon'] — 5-9, 180 DB/ATH — Calvary Baptist (2027)

The Cavaliers' star has been a highly ranked defensive back prospect on Prep Redzone Louisiana's lists throughout his high school career, but he spent LSU's second elite camp this summer showcasing his talent on the other side of the ball as he consistently broke himself free from defenders and caught everything thrown his way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1380168' first='Bra'jon' last='Melancon'] — 6-0, 150 DB/WR — East Iberville (2027)

The long, lean two-way standout started to garner some college attention with a strong junior year, including some big receiving numbers this fall and solid showing during track season in the spring. And he showcased his potential at cornerback at LSU's second elite camp, largely locking down his side of the field and nearly snatching a highlight interception on a great read and break on a short throw to the outside.

[player_tooltip player_id='723579' first='Easton' last='Royal'] — 5-11, 185 WR — Brother Martin (2027)

Royal has been opening eyes with his elite speed all offseason long, including his trips to Baton Rouge for the second elite camp and for Friday Night Lights where he spent back-to-back camps blowing past defenders for big plays downfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='934559' first='Javon' last='Vital'] Jr. — 5-10, 190 ATH — Hamilton Christian (2027)

The quick, multisport standout for the Warriors looks bigger and stronger every time we have the opportunity to see him, and he's maintaining his elusiveness and explosiveness while also becoming increasingly effective playing through physical coverage

[player_tooltip player_id='1238574' first='Ze'land' last='Young'] — 6-4, 190 WR/TE— Neville (2026)

Hudson stole all the headlines coming out of Friday Night Lights, but Young was quietly another top performer as a hybrid pass-catcher who played more tight end this fall, but showed the speed and all-around athleticism to consistently beat top defenders downfield in one of the more high-profile and competitive events on the college camp circuit.
