Reggie White, Bruce Smith, Randy White, John Randle, and Ed "Too Tall" Jones, those are the defensive linemen who inspired me to want to play that position.

It's been a while since I have contributed to Prep Redzone Kansas.

Before I feature four Northeast Kansas Linemen who plan to take down ball carriers this fall, I wanted to share some information.

I have canceled several camp visits that I had planned over the past two weeks and have relinquished my rankings responsibilities for Prep Redzone Kansas due to personal and family issues.

My primary scouting duties will now be for Prep Dig Kansas, but I will still play a secondary scouting role on Redzone. My plan is to contribute 5-10 monthly reports on this site moving forward, down from the 20-plus I was writing.

My primary focus will be on featuring players in and around Topeka and the surrounding Northeast Kansas region. I will also focus on the defensive line and linebacker positions moving forward.

Here is a look at four defensive linemen in Northeast Kansas who are currently ranked and have claimed Prep Redzone profiles.

I can't emphasize often enough how important it is for athletes to claim their profiles (or create one if they are unranked) and use those profiles to their full advantage. The more information you share with the coaches that subscribe to our site, the more likely they are to reach out to you.

Athletes can claim and create profiles by using this link: https://prepredzone.com/prospect-index/

I appreciate everyone who has supported Prep Redzone and me since this site was launched in 2020. This isn't goodbye, but I wanted to share a little insight into my future plans on Prep Redzone, Prep Dig, and Prep Girls Hoops.

Breuckmann is a space-eating defensive tackle to watch this fall. He is ranked No. 128 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. Southwest plays with a three-man defensive line, and Breuckman plays on the end, but really in that system, he works more as a tackle. He has great instincts and moves well. He recorded 10 tackles during his junior season and 16 as a sophomore. He also plays lacrosse for the Timberwolves.

I saw Lee play last season against Shawnee Heights, and he can be a disruptive player. I like the way he comes out of his stance. He rarely comes out of it straight up. He stays low and can explode through a gap. He wraps up well and has strong legs. He is ranked No. 146 overall by Prep Redzone.

Lero is currently ranked No. 152 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. He finished with 14 tackles in 12 games as a junior and recovered one fumble. He is a little undersized, but he packs a punch. He is a lunch-pail lineman who understands his responsibilities in the defense and carries out his orders. He has excellent balance and is quick off the ball.

Taylor is a nose guard who reminds me of Jerry Ball. He is big, round, and moves like a bowling ball. He is difficult to block and has an effective swim move. His size makes him difficult to pancake, and his quickness allows him to move quickly from A-Gap to A-Gap. He is a run stuffer, but has the quickness to pressure the quarterback up the middle. His speed makes him a great option to run stunts with. Tyler is ranked No. 147 overall by Redzone Kansas.
