ARKANSAS 2027 RANKINGS UPDATE: Linebacker Breakdown

<p>We have officially released a new set of rankings for the class of 2027 in Arkansas. In this article, we will showcase the 2027 linebackers with analysis. Over the next month, I will break down these rankings by position in each class, including other segments. For the linebackers, I will provide you with evaluations of some of the top prospects and the players flying under the radar:</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1278415' first='Will' last='Caston'] is gaining recognition after receiving his first Division 1 offer from Tulane last month. Caston is an exceptionally athletic linebacker known for his relentless energy, enabling him to cover the entire field. He effectively stacks and sheds blockers, making timely plays at the line of scrimmage. Lavalais displays good read-and-react skills, staying square while filling gaps to make tackles at the LOS or in the backfield. He has the foot speed and angles to chase down ball carriers effectively. In coverage, Lavalais shows solid lateral quickness, COD, and burst, allowing him to position himself to make plays on the football. He plays with a high motor and will excel against the run and zone coverage. Baltz showcases a quick first step, scanning the backfield with his eyes and quickly reading and reacting to plays. He can stack, shed, or shoot through gaps, making plays at the LOS or in the backfield against the run. He can diagnose play-action passes efficiently and drop back into coverage quickly. He can play both off-ball and off the edge. He displays solid read-and-react ability, attacking downhill quickly with solid angles. His quickness and ability to diagnose quickly enable him to shoot gaps to make a play at the LOS or in the backfield.
