We keep logging miles, notes, and more on our camp trail as we made it up for the third year in a row to the UND Flagship Camp in Grand Forks where over 350 athletes were in attendance to try to get a scholarship offer from the Fighting Hawks and several other NSIC and NAIA schools that were in attendance. Just like the camp started out, I start my content in the trenches, starting with some of the favorites I had in my notebook amongst the defensive line group. As it took nearly 1300 words to describe all the work being put in the defensive trenches.

Owen was a new name in my eyes in the Midwest that generated some interest from his performance at the first UND Flagship Camp. The fluidity was evidently seen early along with the change of direction, but Owen put both into fruition during the 1v1 reps as with a front row seat, I saw him have multiple wins during 1v1s and showed off his plethora of moves in a multitude of ways. The spin move Owen pulled was nasty and showed great timing and watching how quick he could generate power and get off his sheds quickly were another booming skillset that popped off for Owen in Grand Forks. Owen appears as a probably stockriser in this 2026 class as I really liked his UND camp performance.

Another new name that caught our radar at the 6/12 UND Flagship Camp out of DGF was 2027 defensive linemen Nolan Dale. He was more wirey and explosive than I had expected to see out of the early reps in Grand Forks, as the verified 6'2 230 pounder also put up some intriguing testing numbers as just a junior to be at his size. I've seen growth from Nolan with his pas-rush moves since the season it appears on tape, as the DGF defensive end is trending upwards based on the first live eval we got at UND.

Ben is one that caught muliple PRZ scouts attendance in Grand Forks, as the sudden get off a long with the constant fluidness that Ben gives off every rep was evident at the 6/12 UND Flagship Camp. College strength programs will love what this young man can bring to the table, as he came in around a shade over 6'2 and inside 220 pounds but ran a 4.77 40-yard dash and 4.63 in the pro agility and the translation was clear-cut when we watched his 1v1 reps. He showed off persistent twitchiness in every rep I watched him get after and you could tell during the pass-rush reps that the stiffer offensive linemen were having their issues getting Ben with his elusive first step. I'll say amen to what Oliver said about Ben from UND, he is a big time sleeper in this 2026 class right now.

Those that subscribed to us last year should know by now how fired up I was about Antayos at last summer's UND Flagship Camp and man, the development and growth this young buck has made in a year is super impressive so much so, he picked up his first D1 offer at camp on 6/12. Similar to last year, Tay made some 1v1 reps look like clockwork as he has improved a ton with his power generation off the snap to getting off his blocks and put that into fruition on several 1v1 reps I watched in Grand Forks. It's surely evident that Tay has a quick growth curve and is super coachable for his age, as most FCS schools don't offer young men this early in the class unless they are a certified dude, especially in the trenches like Tay has continued to show he with now muliple live evals for our PRZ staff this summer.

Talk about a plethora of studs in this 2027 class from Catholic Memorial on their defensive line, as Kyle Johnston was another one that caught my attention during his reps at the 6/12 UND Flagship Camp. On the numerous reps I watched from Kyle, I saw a defensive end that showed an eye-catching get off from a speed perspective, but it wasn't just that either in my eyes. Kyle I could tell also brought the instinctive lateral movement with his change of direction, and was quite efficent with his short area vision getting off the sheds and getting downhill to the ball quickly. As a Wisconsinite, I will surely be watching this Waukesha Catholic Memorial 2027 DE duo closely as we get into fall.

Kaden is a live eval I had been hoping to get for a minute, as I got what I was looking for out of my eval at the UND Flagship Camp on 6/12 for the local product out of Grand Forks. The 6'4 204 pounder from Grand Forks Red River, is a defensive linemen that I thought got better with the more reps he was given, which showed off his coachability. The length that Kaden has is apparent as a 2027 that I liked the upside he showed from the first rep to the last one, showing off more flexibility than you would expect with his size getting under the pads in some of the 1v1 reps I watched in which he had success. Surely a 2027 that should see a rise up our DL 2027 rankings in North Dakota due to his good-looking live eval.

Another 2027 DL from North Dakota that cracked my notebook, was one that has plenty of raw upside to grow in this 2027 class, which was Ryan Bercier of North Prairie/Mount Pleasant. I didn't get to watch a ton of reps from Ryan, but basing off the live eval I did gather, I could gauge this young man showed good coachability as another DL prospect that was better in his last rep than his first rep, that took coaching well. Ryan showed off hands that were set up to get off the ball quickly as he creates more hand speed, and foot speed in tight areas he could be one to watch in this 2027 class from small town North Dakota, as we have seen a handful of North Prairie targets play at the next level in the last handful of years.

One of the biggest under the radar attention grabbers from this UND Flagship Camp in my eyes, came from Bismarck Century 2026 defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='1590572' first='Darion' last='Bitz'], who is also a two time heavyweight champ in wrestling on the mat in North Dakota. Darion won a ton of 1v1 reps that I watched, as I loved how well he could get off his blocks with his hands with great hand speed and urgency when it was time for him to get downhill to the ball with his sudden movement for his size. The nearly 6'5 wingspan Darion possessed was also notably seen rep after rep which was something that I felt you could only see in a live eval from camp as Darion is just starting to get his tape out there from the 2024 season. Surely is one that the live eval did him some favors as one that surely showed off he can play on Saturdays and also recorded a 4.85 40 yard dash at 5'11 230 pounds.
