2028’s Top Pass Catchers

We kicked off our ranking update series with the 2028 class. In case you missed it, <strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/oklahoma/rankings/2028-rankings/">we released the 2028 Top 50 earlier this week.</a></strong> These prospects just finished up their freshman seasons and there are quite a few that have already made names for themselves. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at the wide receiver position. There are a few players at this position that have already been covered. But we're taking a look at three more players at the position to keep an eye on this season. Broken Bow is going to have one of the more exciting offenses to watch when you consider who they have lining up at the quarterback position. That was the case last season and we don't expect it to change this season. Hall emerged last fall as one of the top targets in the Broken Bow passing attack and we think he could end up taking the next step this season. Hall was a player that we caught in person last fall and he was consistently beating opposing defensive backs on deep balls. Mayhew appears to be a player primed for a breakout season this fall. We caught him at our camp back in January and then we watched him again at a team camp. Both times, Mayhew was a consistent route runner with even more consistent hands. When you throw it Mayhew's way, there's a good chance that he's going to make the catch and then make something happen with the football in his hands. We're impressed with a couple Deer Creek receivers coming into this season and Mayhew is one of them. Rejoice Christian has one standout wide receiver on one side of the offense and Wilson could be the other guy. Wilson's older brother is former Rejoice quarterback Chance Wilson so he has D1 DNA in him. Wilson got plenty of playing time last season and we think that his production takes a spike this season. After watching him in person last month, we saw a wide receiver who's confidence is going through the roof. He's a long receiver that has ability after the catch. The biggest problem when defending him is he is a handful to bring down. The strength is off the charts. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
