2026 JUNE RANKINGS UPDATE: Defensive New Additions

<p>These defensive prospects have debuted in our newest rankings for the class of 2026 in Arkansas. They truly impressed our staff as we delve into our analysis below:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1675928' first='Vincent' last='Stroud'] was our defensive MVP at our combine in May. He can be a mismatch, utilizing his good burst off the snap to beat the OL on the edge or shoot inside, employing his hands to swipe off their punches and pressure the pocket. His quickness and power allow him to consistently make plays at the LOS or in the backfield. He displays solid upfield burst off the snap and engages with good hand placement. He's a sideline-to-sideline linebacker who effectively shoots through gaps off blitzes and can cover the entire field. McDonald displays a quick first step, keying the backfield with his eyes and will chase down ball carriers. Lee displays a high motor, playing sideline-to-sideline, chasing down ball carriers from behind. He will fill gaps post-snap and can contain the edge if needed. Chavez is a willing tackler in run support when in space and utilizes good angles and pad level to make those stops all over the field. His hips are fluid, allowing him to transition effectively throughout the zone, and man, not allowing much separation. He displays solid recognition against screens, getting off blocks and making a stop or INT.
