Spring newcomers poised for big ’25 seasons

He checks into our rankings as one of the top players in Idaho, and should have a huge Senior season for Meridian. He creates immediate knock-back at the LOS, shows he can collapse the pocket quickly inside and has good short area twitch, especially for his size. He is explosive out of his stance with a diverse skill-set when running routes and can create separation downfield and track the ball well over the top with soft hands. He shows he can get into defenders blind spot before breaking off his route and has a good body control and high point abilities in traffic. Definitely a no-brainer to enter into our rankings in the next update, Murphy is poised for a breakout senior season. He comes in as the number 2 ranked tight end in his class and inside the top 30 overall within Washington and will enter into our rankings in the next update later this Spring. He has the ideal size and frame for the position with a big catch radius and will only continue putting on mass over the next three years. He has good length for the edge position and a frame to continue packing on weight throughout his prep career and should find his home at defensive end in college. He is explosive off the ball and shoots his hands quickly while able to bend around the edge against bigger blockers and can win with speed and power at the POA. He is a natural bender in his stance that explodes quickly and can create immediate knock-back in the run game while showing he can finish blocks, pull across the line of scrimmage and gets to the second level in space.
