[player_tooltip player_id='1869334' first='Caleb' last='Peagler'], a 2027 running back from Smithson Valley High School, is poised for a breakout season after patiently waiting his turn behind a talented senior backfield. At 5'11" and 195 pounds, Peagler made the most of his opportunities last year, rushing for over 300 yards on just 42 carries—an impressive clip of nearly 8 yards per touch. A versatile athlete, he also starred on defense, earning All-District 1st Team honors at linebacker while helping guide Smithson Valley to a 5A-D1 State Championship. Peagler is a fluid, twitchy runner with the instincts to find seams and the physicality to punish defenders, whether running through contact or breaking free around the edge. With his blend of speed, vision, and toughness, he's set to emerge as one of the area's top offensive weapons this fall.

MJ Kenner, a 2027 running back out of Steele High School, is a name to watch as he steps into a bigger role this season. At 5'10" and 190 pounds, Kenner averaged nearly 7 yards per carry last year despite playing behind a deep group of Division I upperclassmen and will now share the backfield with Texas A&M commit Jonathan Hatton. Also a standout linebacker, Kenner was one of the Knights' leading tacklers, showcasing his toughness and football IQ on both sides of the ball. Highly athletic with sneaky speed and explosive burst, he combines shifty footwork and excellent hands to make defenders miss and extend plays. With his gritty, dog mentality and sharp instincts, Kenner is primed to be a major impact player for Steele this fall.

2027 Sotomayor High School running back, [player_tooltip player_id='1764539' first='Cam' last='Grady'], is turning heads with a rare combination of size, speed, and production. Standing 6'3" and 205 pounds, Grady piled up 1,435 rushing yards last season—averaging over 8 yards per carry and 120 yards per game with 15 total TDs—proving he's as explosive as he is durable. With track speed and a physical running style, he pairs sharp footwork and fluid hips to make defenders miss in space or power through contact. Grady already holds an offer from UTSA, with more Division I programs sure to follow as his stock continues to rise. This is a young man built for the next level, and it's only a matter of time before he's making an impact on Saturdays.

2027 running back, [player_tooltip player_id='1664154' first='Dillan' last='Wickham'], from New Braunfels Christian Academy, put together a monster season in 2024, racking up 1,729 rushing yards at an eye-popping 10 yards per carry. At 6'1" and 180 pounds, Wickham averaged over 170 yards per game and found the end zone 28 times, showcasing his ability to take over games week in and week out. He's a shifty, quick, and elusive runner with the toughness to bang between the tackles and the speed to bounce runs outside. Adding to his versatility, Wickham has reliable hands catching passes out of the backfield, making him a true every-down threat. With his mix of explosiveness and physicality, he's a name that's bound to rise on recruiting boards soon.
