It's springtime here in Texas, and you know what that means! Spring Ball! High schools from around the state have started their 25-26 football seasons, and we want to highlight some players who should make some noise. We'll kick it off with a few 2027 Receivers from Central Texas. These young men are looking to have big years for their respective teams. At 5'10", 170 pounds, Johnson is fast, quick, and slippery—effortlessly navigating through traffic and turning broken plays into big gains. With nearly 1,000 total yards and 53 receptions this past season, he consistently found ways to impact the game and stretch defenses. His wild athleticism and ability to create separation in tight windows make him a problem for defenders. Johnson's stock continues to rise as he proves to be a reliable and explosive threat on every snap.     Ayden Avila, a rising star for the Seguin Matadors, is a smooth and skilled wide receiver in the Class of 2027 with big-time potential. Standing 6'2", 175 pounds, Avila is a dual-sport athlete and district champion in the 300m hurdles, bringing elite agility and explosiveness to the field with a 4.1 pro shuttle and 4.6 40-yard dash. This past season, he hauled in 41 receptions for nearly 550 yards and 6 touchdowns, showcasing strong hands, crisp routes, and a fluid running style that makes him tough to cover.
