PRzMN FREE 2025 Transfer Portal Spring Window Tracker
This recent spring transfer portal window, which ran from 9 days from April 16th to April 25th, has been far more hectic than I imagined. With around 4,000 names set to officially announce their intention to transfer by entering the portal, as well as a total number of entries that is set to exceed last year's spring window, the number of Minnesotans who are looking for new homes has also been more than expected. PrepRedzoneMN, seeing the flood of talented names making and hoping for fresh starts, we thought it was important to give some quick coverage to the Land of 10,000 Lakes natives who have entered the portal this spring. This includes the biggest winners, as well as the top uncommitted remaining names still searching for their new program to call home. Check out this FREE 2025 Minnesota-focused Transfer Portal Spring Window Tracker below!

Biggest Winners & Most Notable Transfers
Caleb Sandstrom (Elk River) EDGE. 6'3 3/4", 245 lbs. Transferred from the University of St. Thomas to Appalachian State
The biggest Minnesota winner of the 2025 spring transfer window comes out of homegrown Elk River and University of St. Thomas EDGE Caleb Sandstrom. A key piece to the Elks 2022 undefeated Class 5A state championship run, as well as one of the physically largest and most decorated linebackers of the past few cycles, Sandstrom was one of a large group of talented Tommies to depart St. Paul for the portal this spring, and after totaling 26 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, and a PBU with the Tommies in two seasons, he's onto greener pastures in the FBS ranks. Sandstrom, in large part due to his size and versatility, as well as three years of eligibility remaining, Sandstrom earned offers from South Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Texas State, and Appalachian State, where he eventually committed to on April 23rd. From non-scholarship FCS to full-ride FBS, Sandstrom leveraged the portal to his advantage this spring.
Alex Elliott (Hutchinson) LB. 6'2, 220 lbs. Transferring from the University of Minnesota
A former PrepRedzoneMN Showcase standout and alum, Elliott was a standout high school RB and S for Hutchinson who transitioned to LB as a senior and grew into a 220 lber. in the Gophers S&C program while at the U. With three years of eligibility remaining, Eliott hit the portal this spring, and according to his Twitter, has bounced back and landed with Missouri Valley powerhouse North Dakota State. Good to see the Hutch product land on his feet. Roll Herd!
Isaiah Green (St. Cloud Tech) DL. Transferring from Western Michigan
A former monster DL and wrestler for the Tech Tigers, Green has had quite the busy collegiate career, which began in Cedar Falls with the University of Northern Iowa. After earning 13 FCS and FBS offers after transferring from UNI to JUCO powerhouse Iowa Western Community College, Green landed at FBS Western Michigan, where he totaled 55 tackles, 9 TFLs, 5 sacks over the last two seasons in over 1,000 snaps. The St. Cloud product committed to Memphis earlier this month, where he will team up with former SMB Wolfpack and Michigan State DE Chase Carter.
Noah Friedt (Apple Valley) DL. 6'2, 275 lbs. Grad transfer from the University of St. Thomas
You're always going to see big, athletic interior bodies find love in the portal, and the University of St. Thomas lost a good one to the portal in 2024 Phil Steele All-Conference and 2x PFL All-Conference DL Noah Friedt. After finishing his UST career with 49 tackles, 17 TFLs, and 9 sacks as a two-year starter, Friedt found some serious scholarship attention in the portal, earning offers from Maine, South Carolina State, Texas Southern, Tennessee Tech, Furman, and UTEP, before he announced he was shutting things down and committing to Missouri Valley Football Conference big boy Southern Illinois. Seems that the PFL to MVFC pipeline remains strong.
Zach Cochnauer (Farmington) OL. Transferring from Central Arkansas to Nevada
A big-time success found in the risk and reward of the ever-present transfer portal, Farmington product Cochnauer leveraged a successful career at FCS Central Arkansas to a FBS Mountain West scholarship with Nevada. Can't wait to watch this kid on Saturdays this fall.
