Below are notes that I recorded while I was in attendance for the position group mentioned in the subject line.

We start today with the young bucks... [player_tooltip player_id='1633478' first='Dylan' last='Serna'] showed not only promise and upside, but coachability as his confidence gained after each rep he took. Serna showed to have an inherent good pop when he punches in pass protection. That said, he did have a slight forward lean and his physicality wavered at times - both of which I fully expect him to improve as he grows older and gets more varsity reps. At one point I noted him staying in front of one of the tougher defenders to win that particularly rep. In conclusion I thought that Serna was more comfortable against matchups against prospects more aligned with his stage of his physical development... [player_tooltip player_id='1669297' first='Michael' last='Negron'] was a prospect that I thought was the best of the bunch in amongst the youngins. What makes him such an attractive, young prospect was the fact that Negron had plus pad level due to his natural ability to bend. He does, however, areas for his game to continue to blossom. Forward lean was something Negron suffered from at moments, as well as kick stepping rather than sliding, when lined up at guard.

For as good as Negron's pad level was, [player_tooltip player_id='1512374' first='Jacob' last='Vogel']'s might have been better. With that superior pad level, Vogel also did a great job of power stepping to the point that I heard his feet drag along the turf. During one live-action rep it appeared that Vogel overset as the defender took the inside rush lane; however, and much to his credit, Vogel turned that cross face into a drive block out of the frame... After reviewing my notes for this next prospect, I literally wrote "better than I thought" twice. Still just a freshman, [player_tooltip player_id='1635673' first='Jeron' last='Byam'] was that kid. Although he needs more bend, his feet were quicker than I thought. This was evidenced when he was asked to both power slide and kick step. I suppose he waits to react to his defender, as I noted he was patient in pass protection. Lastly, that patience allows Byam to avoid panicking when dealing with speed off the edge, again, proving he handles that method of attack better than I thought.

The clear-cut, top offensive lineman in attendance today was [player_tooltip player_id='284060' first='Elias' last='Martinez – Beasley']. Martinez – Beasley moved the best during the box drill during indy. Moreover, he had very quick, light feet to go with outstanding bend. Something else I noticed was how tight this rising junior kept his hands and elbows, within the chest plate and frame of his matchup. Lastly, I thought Martinez – Beasley was a smart player. I saw him overset and get beat on one rep, only to correct that and not make that same mistake again later.
