The kickoff to summer has begun with Prep Redzone Arkansas showcase. The turnout was terrific and the talent in the Natural State continues to be eye opening. In this article, I am going to highlight some of the defensive standouts who caught my eye.

[player_tooltip player_id='1668625' first='Isaiah' last='Davis']-Defensive Back-Searcy-5'10” 175-Pounds-2026

The Searcy defensive back had a strong camp. Davis tested well across the board. Meanwhile, he performed well in one-on-one competition. He has the speed and range to close on the ball and knock it away. Davis does a great job of playing the ball while it is in the air. Davis is a prospect to watch out for throughout the summer. He has the potential for a strong 2025 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1354197' first='Bryer' last='Hackler']-Linebacker-Greenwood-6'2” 200-Pounds-2028

The Greenwood Bulldogs have struck gold with this talented linebacker. Hackler has the speed to get sideline to sideline, the range needed to always be around the football, impressive speed, and good agility. He had a solid camp and did a great job in one-on-one competition over the weekend. Hackler is a prospect to watch out for on the defensive side of the ball for the Bulldogs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1317062' first='Brogan' last='Tate']-Defensive Line-Walnut Ridge-6'0” 260-Pounds-2026

[player_tooltip player_id='1317062' first='Brogan' last='Tate'] never fails to impress at each camp he attends. He explodes out of the stance and uses his quickness to get into the opposing offensive backfield. Tate has a motor that does not seem to stop. Tate excelled in one-on-one competition over the weekend and was able to continue to get into the backfield. Tate is a prospect to watch out for over the summer. I expect him to have a strong 2025 football season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1675928' first='Vincent' last='Stroud']-Defensive Line-Fordyce-6'0” 220-Pounds-2026

[player_tooltip player_id='1675928' first='Vincent' last='Stroud'] is a prospect to watch out for this season. He had an excellent camp in Little Rock over the weekend. Stroud was tremendous in one-on-one competition and got in the backfield with each rep. He uses his hands well to keep the opposing offensive lineman off of him. Stroud uses his mix of power and speed well and is a prospect to watch out for this summer. He has the potential to explode this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1646038' first='Anthony' last='Lamar Ross']-Defensive Line-Warren-5'11” 210-Pounds-2027

The Warren defensive lineman does a great job of using his speed to get into the offensive backfield. He has a variety of pass rush moves and displayed them over the weekend in Little Rock. Ross consistently was able to defeat blocks in one-on-one competition over the weekend. He had a strong camp over the weekend and he is a prospect to watch out for over the next couple of seasons. Ross is a name you are going to hear plenty of times over the next few years.
