The teams in Region IV-2A have been a bit quiet over the past several seasons. A region that once was a dog fight at the top has now turned into almost a one-team show.

Every team will be looking to run down the Cheraw Braves and will need big time performances to do so. Here are six MVP frontrunners for every team in one of the more under-appreciated regions in the state.

CENTRAL EAGLES

[player_tooltip player_id='1664364' first='Dwayne' last='Louallen'] QB, 2027

Louallen was a major dual threat for Central last season, and he will look to do much of the same again this year. He finished with 1,417 passing yards and 10 touchdowns as well as 519 rushing yards and sixteen touchdowns on the ground. Those 16 rushing touchdowns were nine more than any other player. He will need to improve his completion percentage (56.4%) and limit his interceptions (10). If he can improve both of those things, he is primed for a massive junior season.

BUFORD YELLOW JACKETS

[player_tooltip player_id='1516248' first='Marvin' last='Randolph'] ATH, 2026

It was a difficult decision to take Randolph (pictured) over tight end Cole Carnes, as both of them had break out junior seasons and are looking to have big senior years. Randolph had 20 carries for 191 yards and three rushing touchdowns as well as six catches for 106 yards. Defensively, he finished with 38 tackles and team highs in both tackles for loss (nine) and sacks (three). His impact on both offense and defense could help Buford be a surprise team in the region.

ANDREW JACKSON VOLUNTEERS

[player_tooltip player_id='1394996' first='Damias' last='Seegars'] RB, 2026

Seegars was the lone running back to eclipse over 400 yards for AJ, and he did it in a big way. He rushed for 1,082 yards and 11 touchdowns. He averaged 98.4 rushing yards per game and ran for more than 100 yards four times. He was also a factor in the receiving game with 15 catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, he collected two interceptions and 14 tackles. He's also prolific on special teams, as he put up 432 return yards and averaged 39.9 yards per punt. Simply put, he's the best player for AJ and is expected to put up the same kind of numbers in his senior season.

NORTH CENTRAL KNIGHTS

Zymarcus Stover ATH, 2026

Stover was neither the leading receiver nor rusher, but he was stuck behind a 1,000-yard running back in [player_tooltip player_id='1575379' first='Jonathan' last='Clarkson'] last year. With Clarkson now gone, Stover can be expected to see increased production in the ground game where he had 35 carries for 160 yards and a touchdown. In the receiving game, he had 23 catches for 214 yards and a receiving touchdown. His 374 all-purpose yards were the second most of the team and it can be expected that he will become the team leader in his senior season.

CHERAW BRAVES

[player_tooltip player_id='1172365' first='Crawford' last='Poole'] LB, 2027

Poole was a monster on the defensive side of the ball last season, as he had 47 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. His 11 sacks were a team high and his 16 tackles for loss were the second most. He made a minimal impact in the receiving game with just two catches for 30 yards and a touchdown. He also made an impact on special teams with a blocked punt. Another season with double digit tackles for loss and sacks could make Poole one of the highly known players headed into his senior season.

CHESTERFIELD RAMS

[player_tooltip player_id='1629002' first='Sincere' last='Hubbard'] LB, 2026

Hubbard filled up the stat sheet last year, as he finished the season with 162 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one sack and one fumble recovery. Those 162 tackles were 91 more than the next closest on the team, a testament to his ability to get to the football in a hurry. He also had a minor impact in the receiving game with four receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown. With an offseason of preparation, Hubbard could be penciled in for a stellar senior season.
