Fresh Additions to Our Freshman Radar

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It has been a minute since we refreshed our list of new names and faces that we will be adding to the Class of 2028 rankings during our summer update. Today we have a list of six athletes that play all over the field. We start with an impressive athlete that is already apart of our Watch List, but we just saw that he has some fresh film to go through. Then it will be on to five brand new kids, their tape, and where they are currently at early in their high school career and development. I'm excited for this next wave of WI talent! Nfor already has an elite 6'6" 230 lbs frame with length to match. That big frame is loaded up with a solid base of power to continue to build upon. Afanyu does well using his length and power to defeat blocks and has a solid first step quickness to get around OL. The big man also has examples of a strong motor, making plays outside of the front seven with his speed and effort. With that size we could see Carlos continue to grow and become more of a TE recruit. Right now, though, Carlos is a dominant outside receiver. He has strong hands and a massive catch radius. He is able to go up and get it at the high point where freshman/JV opponents can't get to. For such a large frame, the freshman has well developed body control and that allows him to run effective routes that get him into open space for his QB to easily target. Carlos was a mismatch in 2024 and could be in line for a breakout 2025 as a sophomore. The one I want to focus on today is Benji Weis. The 5'10" 175 lbs freshman wins with a physical running style. He is a one cut runner that is going to stick his foot in the ground when he sees the hole and get up field to pick up as many yards as he can. Benji also has the ability to create yards after contact with a strong stiff arm and contact balance that allows him to lower the shoulder and churn his way to extra yards. Huntington is able to move the pile downfield and he flashed the ability to maintain his balance and recover from awkward angles all while still gaining yards. He is not one to waste any time in the backfield either. Hunter is decisive, and then when the time comes is more than willing to flip the switch and punish tacklers. He looks bigger than the listed height/weight I was able to find for him as he flies around the LB and TE positions. On offense Peyton is a smooth athlete that is able to cover ground, attack the intermediate levels of the field, and consistently get open with his smooth athleticism. Peyton also does well using his frame and strong hands to secure catches in traffic. On defense you see more of that physicality when he lowers the shoulder on ball carriers. The 5'9" 145 lbs athlete plays with no hesitation. He is a quick processor as the play unfolds and instantly triggers downhill when the ball is in front of him. Despite not being the biggest kid, Terrin attacks aggressively and is a very reliable tackler. It is tackling that you can trust as your last line of defense. In those plays you see the range too as Jackson is usually closing on the ball from 10 yards or more off the line of scrimmage. Terrin has plenty of eye catching plays that have me excited for the upcoming years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
