East River Ready To Run It Back Again In ’25

East River Ready To Run It Back Again In ’25
While head coach Adam Chappell and his Falcons ended the season 6-5, they also had the opportunity to play some impressive teams – such as Altamonte Springs Lake Brantley, rival Orlando Timber Creek, Kissimmee Tohopekaliga, Kissimmee Poinciana and a Windermere program that certainly showcased some quality players.

When it comes to high school football in the state of Florida, the name of the game is developing and teaching.

While everyone wants to win a state title, keep in mind that only a handful of programs can hold the trophy high, and while many want to play for that $50 wood trophy, there is plenty lost in the translation.

With football a year-round sport, it is all about getting student/athletes ready for the next level – in and out of the classroom as well teaching life skills that they can carry with them a lifetime.

Perhaps the best thing created in the state of Florida are the independent leagues where programs of equal levels play each other during the course of a year, and while winning and losing is always important, having a chance to square off with teams that you can matchup with keeps the season interesting and competitive all year.

While there will always be losses, 2024 showcased wins (Orlando Oak Ridge, Orlando Colonial, Orlando Innovation, Orlando Cypress Creek, Orlando Lake Buena Vista and Orlando University) that this team has used this spring and the upcoming season as motivation.

As this team approaches the new season ahead, there are several 2026 (rising seniors) who are ready to take charge along with some elite underclassmen, looking to make this year
