The defensive line is where games are often won and lost, and the Class of 2027 in Oregon is shaping up to have some exciting talent in the trenches. From powerful interior linemen who clog lanes and control the line of scrimmage to explosive edge rushers who specialize in disrupting the backfield, these rising juniors are ready to make noise. In this edition of our “Under the Radar” series, we're highlighting a group of defensive linemen—both inside and off the edge—who may not be getting the recognition they deserve just yet. With continued growth and a critical offseason ahead, these players have the tools to become difference-makers in 2024.

Miller is a long, athletic edge defender with intriguing upside as a pass rusher. He flashes speed off the edge and bends well around blockers, showing a natural ability to pressure the quarterback. While he's still growing into his frame and building strength, his quickness and frame give him a strong foundation for long-term development. With continued work on technique and physical growth, Miller could become a real problem off the edge in the coming years.

Telesa is a disruptive force on the interior defensive line and someone I had to game plan against firsthand last season—he was a nightmare to block. With his quick get-off, relentless motor, and advanced hand usage, he consistently makes plays behind the line of scrimmage. Telesa already plays with the intensity and physicality of an upperclassman and is well on his way to becoming a true game-wrecker by the time he's a senior. His ability to change a game from the interior is rare at this age.

Pubols brings a powerful frame to the defensive line and plays with a physical edge that makes him tough to move in the run game. There are still some technique issues that show up on film, but his effort and work ethic are evident. His raw strength and size make him a problem for opposing linemen, and as his fundamentals improve, his impact will only grow. Pubols has the foundation of a reliable, physical presence on the interior with room to develop into much more.

Edwards is an athletic lineman with good size and versatility, showing flashes of impact on both sides of the ball. While he's making strides as a defensive tackle, there's an argument to be made that his ceiling might be even higher on offense. His mobility and frame give him upside no matter where he lines up, and how he develops technically over the next year will be worth watching closely. Edwards is one of those prospects who could grow into a major contributor wherever he ends up focusing.

Cooper is a tough, high-motor edge rusher who plays with great effort and a physical edge. He shows solid technique with his hands and does a nice job setting the edge against the run. While not the biggest or flashiest pass rusher, his consistent motor and physicality make him a reliable presence on the outside. As he continues to develop his explosiveness, Cooper could emerge as a steady defensive contributor.
