While the result of the 2024 season was certainly not what head coach Tony Gulla and his Viera football team planned on before the year, there were some valuable lessons learned.

Even though the Hawks ended the year with a 4-7 record, they did make the playoffs – finishing second in District 5-6A. That did give the senior class and the underclassmen and opportunity to get that important exposure.

Instead of dwelling on those losses, which all came against state playoff programs, the positives were the wins and how several younger prospects stepped up and learned.

This program fully understands that if they are to turn things around and push programs like 6A state runner up Kissimmee Osceola, it will have to be done in the off-season and will take a total team commitment.

As spring is around the corner, there are several football players working hard and making a commitment – on and off the playing field.

Here are seven prospects who have achieved on the field and in the classroom that this team will certainly build things around in 2025:

CLASS OF 2026

[player_tooltip player_id='1395869' first='Shaun' last='Hartman'] QB/WR/P/H-Back/, 6'1”, 180 – 3.76 GPA. Team leader who will be counted on to be that prospect to make an impact. He is also a two-sport (Lacrosse) talent.

Chase Kramer, DE/DT/OG, 6'4”, 265 – 4.53 GPA. This Merritt Island transfer will be a huge addition to a line that has some quality football talent that is set to have a solid spring and summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581748' first='Eric' last='Nelson'], QB/RB/WR, 5'10”, 175 – 3.8. Talk about your offensive threat, this is the type of student/athlete that you can put just about anywhere on the field, and he will come through. Spends plenty of time conditioning so he can better help the team.

CLASS OF 2027

[player_tooltip player_id='1682663' first='Dillon' last='Price'], DL, 6'4”, 275 – 3.5 GPA. This is the type of prospect that this program needs. An underclassman that is a difference maker and will continue to improve his football skills.

Noah Renes, LB/Athlete, 6'2”, 230 – 4.18 GPA. Here is a well-rounded prospect who can be counted on to make things happen on the football field – on either side of the ball. He also plays baseball and is one of the top students in the school.

[player_tooltip player_id='1685413' first='Coby' last='Wallace'], OL, 6'4”, 285 – 3.8 GPA. Another of the younger players that continues to work hard up front to help the offense move the ball and stay on the field. The future of the program will be in the hands of achievers like this young man.

CLASS OF 2028

Tyler Wu, OT, 6'6”, 275 – 4.0 GPA. Not only one of the best rising sophomores in the Space Coast region, but also continues to get statewide recognition as a right tackle who has the size, talent and grades to realize his goals over the three to four years.
