Texas Linebackers and Secondary Prospects: Off-Season Watchlist

<p>Spring and summer are crucial periods for recruitment and development, involving team workouts, spring football practices, 7-on-7 events, showcases, visits, and more. Often, especially in the state of Texas, multiple prospects under the radar go unnoticed due to the quantity of players in the state.</p>   <p>At Prep Redzone, our focus is on uncovering those athletes who deserve recognition. These prospects have the ability to compete at the next level, be it D1, D2, D3, NAIA, or JUCO, showcasing their considerable talents. Here are five prospects to watch:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1727745' first='Chase' last='Wilburn'] is flying under the radar throughout the nation and holds two offers from Towson and Indiana State.</p>   <p>Wilburn is an athletic linebacker who can effectively play both inside the box and outside. He demonstrates a solid ability to read and react, quickly breaking on routes in zone coverage, undercutting to either intercept the ball or arrive at the catch point in time to break it up. He can shoot through or fill gaps to make plays at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield. He's an athletic defensive back aiming to take the next step this summer.</p>   <p>Dismuke is a player who covers the field completely, demonstrating his solid motor each rep. His athleticism enables him to match up with receivers on vertical routes. He's able to read and diagnose pre-snap, showcasing his football IQ. He stays square at the POA with good pad level and UOH to shed and make a tackle. Trotter is relentless on blitzes from the interior or outside, consistently putting pressure into the pocket with his quickness. He currently holds offers from Lincoln University (MO) and East Central University (OK).</p>   <p>He is a true Mike linebacker who can lead a defense along with the physicality and intensity he brings to each rep. Manning displays solid read-and-react skills, attacking downhill against the run with solid angles. He just had an official visit with UTEP.</p>   <p>Bartolazzi displays good read and react ability, diagnosing pre-snap and communicating post-snap. He's able to key the quarterback's eyes, pinpoint the route, and arrive at the catch point over the top to force a PBU. He can undercut routes by quickly breaking on the ball due to a solid change of direction and burst off his plant foot. When in stride, he can stay inside the hip pocket as well.
