Interestingly enough, the two tight ends that caught my attention were both 7th graders who graduate in 2030. That said, perhaps what is old will become new again as offenses are now evolving (or is it devolving at this point), to 21, 12, or 22 personnel packages as defensives have gotten smaller, quicker, and faster.

Kevin Roig was a tight end prospect that I believe I saw working offensive line drills at one point. The offensive line coach was excellent, teaching fundamentals from the ground and underscoring that all power and explosion comes from the ground. In a drill when the prospects were on one knee, Roig showed that he can generate a lot of power from his hips by driving his base through the ground. Masterfully done.

Whereas Roig showcased blocking potential, [player_tooltip player_id='644561' first='Jake' last='Cipot'] showcased a little more acrobatic ability and soft hands. Cipot made an incredible play on a fade ball that I do not see many high schoolers even make - I guess this is the benefit of having a family full of football coaches. As the ball was under thrown some, Cipot worked back toward the ball, through the defender to come up with it. Moreover, he absolutely high pointed it at its apex, Mossing his opponent in the process.
