If you need evidence, Jeremy is already planning which prep games to attend next fall and his annual October vacation.

However, his alter ego, Captain Conan, is all about being random. The Captain is not very bright, but as strong as an ox, with superpowers and rugged handsomeness.

I have seen a ton of tributes to Hall of Fame outfielder Ricky Henderson this week and wanted to share some random love for the "Man of Steal."

So even though we have already published the final rankings for the Kansas Class of 2025, we are still learning of committed athletes. One of the top quarterbacks from last season has committed to Coffeyville Community College. Huston has not announced the commitment on his social media account, but this morning, I was informed by Seaman's head coach that he plans to suit up for the Ravens. Huston threw for 80 touchdowns and over 7,000 yards in his career for the Vikings. He has the throwing accuracy and arm to do serious damage in the Jayhawk Conference on Saturdays. Huston finished ranked No. 276 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='267076' first='Calin' last='Arndt'], RB, 5'9", 195, St. Thomas Aquinas, '26

Arndt is one of the top running backs in the Kansas Class of 2026. He comes off a junior season in which he rushed for 2,000 yards and scored 28 touchdowns. He was showered with post-season accolades from various media groups. He runs full bore on every carry and has breakaway speed. He has been invited to a Junior Day event at Missouri Western and is playing 7v7 this season. He is currently ranked No. 81 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='1641836' first='Alamar' last='Brooks'], WR, 6'0", 180, Piper, '26

One of the games I have penciled in for consideration for next fall is Piper's season-opener against Seaman. Brooks is a player on the Pirates' squad that I have not seen play and would like to get a first-hand look at. He finished with 18 receptions for 286 yards and two touchdowns as a junior. He is currently unranked but is scheduled to debut in the rankings when they are next updated. He is also a basketball prospect who can score from deep. His quickness and jumping skills are evident in his video highlights from both sports.

[player_tooltip player_id='1530433' first='Jacob' last='Perkins'], WR, 5'10, 170, Rock Creek, '28

Rock Creek had a couple of freshmen athletes receive varsity playing time last fall. One of those is wideout Perkins, who finished with 22 receptions. He gained 291 yards and scored two touchdowns. He runs crips routes and will get better with increased playing time and gained experience. The Rock Creek prospect is currently ranked No. 37 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028.

[player_tooltip player_id='1468495' first='Mason' last='Deckard'], OL/DL, 5'5", 150, Southeast Saline, '29

Yesterday, I featured five athletes who will be in our first rankings for the Class of 2029. Another athlete who will be included in those initial rankings is the Southeast Saline lineman. The only junior high game I caught last season was a win by Ellsworth over the Trojans. Deckard is a low-to-the-ground lineman who plays with nice pad level and delivers a solid first blow. He is built to play on the interior of the line and has played center and guard. He fits the mold of a space-eating defensive tackle who can defend the run. The key question with him, as with all young athletes, is how committed he will be to getting stronger and faster in his development.
