Prep Redzone Combine Series KY Top Performers: LB

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This past Saturday, our Prep Redzone Combine Series made a stop in Elizabethtown, KY. While there was a ton of talent on display, I wanted to take some time to highlight some top performers at each position from the event. Vize caught my attention during position drills and the open field 1v1 session against the running backs. He showed impressive lateral movement and the ability to take good angles to the ball carrier, not being caught out of position by any moves in the open field by opposing running backs. Vize also impressed during the 1v1 passing competition, showing the ability to open up and run with running backs to mirror their routes. Howard was impressive during the open field 1v1 session against running backs, showing quick closing speed along with the ability to break down effectively to not allow the opposing ball carrier to make a move. He also proved to be reliable in pass coverage, showing the ability to keep inside position against opposing running backs then run with them when they made breaks in their routes. Clemmons was very impressive during the 1v1 passing competition against the running backs. He showed the ability to use his speed to open up and run with his man to mirror their route with ease. When the ball was thrown his way, he showed the ability to fight across the intended receiver's body to make a play on the ball. Hightower stood out to me the most during the 1v1 open field session against the running backs. He showed quick closing speed, not allowing for the running back to gain much ground. Hightower also took good angles in the open field, not giving up much room for the opposing ball carrier to make a move. Crayson impressed during positional drills, showing smooth lateral movement and change of direction ability. He continued to stand out during the open field competition, showing impressive closing speed followed by the ability to break down with ease to tag off on the opposing ball carrier before they could make a move. Lafferty hasn't picked up any offers yet but he should have a lot of eyes on him as a junior as he has been one of the most productive linebackers in the state over the past couple seasons. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
