The LSWA started releasing its all-state basketball teams this week, including several names that should already look familiar to football fans.

There were a couple first- or second-team all-state hoops standouts in Louisiana's Class 3A lists who also boast notable backgrounds on the football field.

[player_tooltip player_id='934563' first='Devin' last='Lavalais'] — 6-2, 165 ATH — Marksville (2027)

The top-50 Prep Redzone Louisiana prospect returned from an injury that cost him much of his freshman year to finish last basketball season strong and earn all-state second-team recognition for the Division-III Non-Select champions. He followed up with an ever stronger all-around sophomore season with 18 points, 12 rebounds, four steals and two blocks per game to earn District 2-3A MVP and Class 3A all-state first-team honors.

Greg Johnson — 6-5 WR — Patterson (2027)

Prep Redzone Louisiana doesn't have a lot to go on yet for Johnson on the football field other than his being listed on the roster, but without film yet shared. But he's still early in his career, and his height and athleticism as a versatile player on the basketball court would suggest he's keeping an eye on this year. Johnson averaged 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists and a blocked shot as a sophomore, earning nods as District 7-3A MVP and a Class 3A all-state selection.

Quinnton Dabney — 6-1, 190 WR/DB — Donaldsonville (2026)

Dabbney is an intriguing pass-catcher in the fall with good overall size to his frame and catch radius and speed down the field or after the catch. But his biggest breakthrough thus far came on the basketball court this year where he averaged 17.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.4 assists per contest to help lead his Division-III Non-Select quarterfinalist Tigers and earn Class 3A all-state second-team recognition.

[player_tooltip player_id='710772' first='Antron' last='Mason II'] — 6-0, 165 WR — Bastrop (2025)

The senior with bouncy athleticism and high-level ball skills has been a top-100 Prep Redzone Louisiana prospect for the class the bulk of his high school career, but viewed basketball as his likelier college route down the stretch and bolstered his résumé on the court as a senior with an all-state second-team performance to help lead the Rams to the quarterfinals. Mason averaged 24.2 points, 5.2 assists and 5.7 steals per game.
