The talent level in Kansas is so deep that there are times when I think Prep Redzone is just scratching the surface in its reporting on Kansas talent.

Camp season is a great time to hunt for unranked talent as talent from all over the state congregates at college combines.

Here is a report on five unranked athletes.

Profiles for each player have been created on Prep Redzone. Athletes are encouraged to claim their Prep Redzone profiles by using the following link https://prepredzone.com/prospect-index/

[player_tooltip player_id='1657251' first='Mike' last='Fandell II'], OL, 6'3”, 250, Shawnee Mission Northwest, ‘26

A big lineman set to be added to the rankings is Shawnee Mission Northwest's Fandell. He should be active this camp season, as he has received invites to attend events at Kansas, Kansas State, and North Dakota State. He lined up at left guard last fall. He moves well for his size, and he's tougher than a $2.00 Steak. He also plays rugby and has proven he is unafraid to get physical.

[player_tooltip player_id='1657260' first='Gabriel' last='Wheelbarger'], LB, 5'10”, 180, Salina South, ‘26

Wheelbarger finished his junior season with 49 tackles. He is scheduled to attend the May 24 camp at McPherson College. He plays outside linebacker and has the ability to shed blockers with his strength or beat them with his speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1657266' first='Grady' last='Bergmann'], WR/DB, 6'3”, 175, Silver Lake, ‘26

Another athlete heading into his senior season and looking to build momentum in his recruiting is Silver Lake's Bergmann. He is a long athlete who can play defensive back or wideout. I like the way he tackles in the open field. He could play corner or safety at the college level. Bergmann is scheduled to attend a camp at Baker University on June 3.

[player_tooltip player_id='1657252' first='Ethan' last='Evans'], LB/TE, 6'0”, 190, Abilene, ‘27

Evans has registered for the McPherson College and Baker University camps this spring. He is quick and versatile. He lined up at edge for the Cowboys on some snaps. Just based on his film clips, he looks more like a middle linebacker to me, but if he bulks up, his speed makes him an option on the edge. I look forward to seeing him at these two combines.

[player_tooltip player_id='1657257' first='Cole' last='Ranieri'], QB, 5'11”, 170, Nemaha Central, ‘28

A young quarterback to start tracking is Nemaha Central's Ranieri. He is scheduled to attend the June 3 camp at Baker. He is starting his recruiting process off right with solid highlights on HUDL, a professional looking X account, and getting himself exposure by participating in camps. He has a strong arm, can throw on the run, and throws a tight ball.
