Yesterday went about as well as I could have hoped. The Cubs won again, the Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche both won their series opening games, and the first night of WrestleMania 41 did not disappoint.

Between three title changes, home run celebrations, and crushing a couple of brats, I still found time to write another preview report of athletes I expect to see during this camp season.

This report features five athletes ranked in the Kansas Class of 2027 who registered to attend the Prospect Camp at Baker University on June 3. Each report includes a wrestling nugget to pay tribute to one of my favorite sports weekends on the calendar.

Athletes are encouraged to claim their Prep Redzone profiles by using the following link https://prepredzone.com/prospect-index/

[player_tooltip player_id='944896' first='Andrew' last='Power'], OL, 6'2”, 275, Blue Valley, ‘27

Power is ranked No. 81 overall by Prep Redzone and is scheduled to participate in the Baker University Camp in Baldwin City. Power is a strong and squatty guard with a frame like Big Bronson Reed and Bam Bam Bigelow. He is solid as a run-blocker and opens up holes for his offensive backs. I am most interested in seeing how quickly he moves at this camp.

[player_tooltip player_id='936547' first='Malachi' last='Brunk'], QB, 5'11”, 150, Inman, ‘27

Inman's Brunk is ranked No. 89 overall. He saw playing time on both sides of the ball for the Teutons as a sophomore. His skills can transition like those of the new World Champion Jey Uso. He can be a tag-team champ on defense or carry the individual responsibilities of a signal-caller. He threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns in seven games last fall. He also rushed for 454 yards and five touchdowns. The Inman weapon made 13 receptions for 190 yards and a score. Defensively, he recorded his second season with 30-plus tackles.

[player_tooltip player_id='1594487' first='Curtis' last='Campa'], LB, 5'9”, 170, Clearwater, ‘27

Campa is currently ranked No. 127 overall. The Clearwater Linebacker has a “British Bulldog” mentality and packs some dynamite when he delivers a blow. He finished his sophomore campaign with 68 tackles for the Indians. He also recorded one quarterback sack, three TFLs, and forced one fumble.

[player_tooltip player_id='1609450' first='Landon' last='Traver'], RB/WR, 5'9”, 160, Marais Des Cygnes Valley, ‘27

Traver is ranked No. 252 overall. Traver is a versatile weapon, much like current star Chad Gable, or should I say, El Americano Grande? Traver is physical enough to play defense, and is quick enough to be an offensive game changer. He finished his sophomore season rushing for 918 yards and catching 36 balls for 779 yards. He scored 13 touchdowns on the ground and made eight receptions for TDs. He also recorded 59 tackles, three interceptions, and forced three fumbles.

[player_tooltip player_id='1452293' first='Kemper' last='Manly'], LB/WR, 5'11”, 160, Chanute, ‘27

Manly is ranked No. 356 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas. Manley brings the wood to the gridiron, like Hacksaw Jim Duggan did to the ring. He finished his sophomore season with 33 tackles. He flows fast to the ball from his outside linebacker position. He also recorded two interceptions and could move to safety if needed.
