Eyes on Guys: Players under the radar

Our recent film reviews have uncovered a group of exceptionally talented high school football players who are significantly undervalued and deserve more attention. While some may have a degree of name recognition, their on-field performance warrants substantially more attention than they currently receive.   Several of these players, even some freshmen, already boast offers from Division I schools. However, in my professional opinion, their potential and current abilities justify a far greater number of offers. Equally impressive are several other players, currently relatively unknown, who I project will garner multiple D1 offers within the next year. While not freshmen, these players are poised for a breakout season and represent an exceptional opportunity for your program.   We strongly encourage you to familiarize yourselves with these players immediately. We believe doing so will give you a significant competitive advantage as their star power inevitably rises. We are confident you'll find their talent and potential exceptionally promising.   I will start with two freshmen who played varsity and were making plays all over the field for their respective schools:    Devon Price is a remarkably athletic and versatile player at both quarterback and defensive back. His performance displays exceptional potential, though further evaluation is needed to definitively determine his optimal position. On offense, he showcases exceptional agility and elusiveness in tight spaces, consistently making defenders miss. His straight-line speed is just impressive, allowing him to outrun opponents without needing any jukes or head fakes. While his quarterback skills are promising, his ability to create plays with the ball in his hands suggests that maximizing his impact might involve exploring offensive roles beyond the traditional quarterback position. He demonstrates promising accuracy throwing on the run and possesses a notably strong arm for a freshman. While some throws on film are slightly high, they remained catchable, suggesting repetitions will correct this rather than a fundamental flaw. Defensively, at free safety, he displays an exceptional ability to read the field, anticipate plays, and capitalize on opponent errors. His game film showcases multiple interceptions returned for touchdowns, highlighting his instincts and ability to translate his athleticism into impactful defensive plays. Devon's combination of athleticism, instincts, and playmaking ability at such a young age suggests he possesses truly exceptional potential. Coaching will be key in refining his skills and determining his best long-term position. However, his current performance is definitely impressive and worthy of significant attention.     Elijah Boggs's exceptional athleticism is readily apparent. Standing at 6'2" and 175 pounds as a freshman, his impressive physique is only the beginning. His current offers from Power 4 schools show his already considerable talent, and we anticipate many more will follow swiftly. Film review reveals a player with remarkable potential. His size and long arms give him a significant advantage at defensive back, allowing him to disrupt plays with impressive consistency. Whether playing zone or man coverage, his ability to cover ground is truly exceptional. He consistently positions himself near the ball, resulting in numerous interceptions and deflections. Offensively, Elijah is a game-changer. He possesses a unique ability to accelerate past defenders, leaving them trailing while looking as if he's jogging. His after-the-catch skills are equally impressive, demonstrating exceptional agility in breaking tackles and navigating tight spaces. His yards-after-catch potential is substantial. Elijah Boggs is a truly exceptional talent, and I'm confident this won't be our last conversation regarding his abilities. He is a player who deserves significant attention and will undoubtedly continue to exceed expectations.     At 6'1” and 210 lbs., Terius already has the size already suited for the rigors of college football. His impressive athleticism is evident in his game film, showcasing speed and agility on both offense and defense. This upcoming season marks a significant development in Terius's career. His transition from linebacker to defensive back offers a fantastic opportunity for him to use his natural abilities and become a true playmaker in the secondary. His performance in this past 7v7 season strongly suggests this transition will be highly successful, he demonstrated his impressive range and ball skills. Terius's contributions extend beyond defense. As a running back, he exhibits a powerful yet agile running style. He's adept at finishing runs with strength and possesses the breakaway speed to run by defenders in the open field. His development has been consistently impressive over the past few years, patiently honing his skills while waiting for his time to shine. Given Warwick's strong track record of producing college-level running backs, Terius stands to be the next in line to continue this tradition. He possesses the physical attributes needed, and it will be interesting to see how he puts it together in a bigger role this upcoming season.     Mhakyi is a versatile and physically imposing pass catcher who excels in a variety of alignments. His ability to line up wide, in the slot, or even as a tight end makes him a significant offensive weapon. While not possessing blazing speed, he demonstrates exceptional route-running skills, consistently creating separation from defenders. His quick releases off the line are particularly effective against press coverage, allowing him to gain an immediate advantage. Standing at an impressive 6'2" and 200 lbs., Mhakyi uses his size to his advantage, showcasing an impressive ability to high-point the ball and secure receptions. This crucial skill translates exceptionally well to the next level of competition. Furthermore, his physicality extends beyond receiving; he is an excellent blocker, contributing significantly to both point-of-attack run blocking and downfield blocking. This combination of size, refined skill set, and physical dominance will make Mhakyi a unique and valuable asset to any team.
