This past week, I have been scheduling college camps and combines that I plan to attend over the course of the next couple of months.

I announced that schedule yesterday on X, but in case you missed it, here are the five camps I plan on attending.

May 24 at McPherson College

June 3 at Baker University

June 9 at Hutchinson Community College

June 12 at Washburn University

June 13 at Pittsburg State University

I have asked athletes to let me know if they plan on attending these camps for purposes of previewing athletes ahead of the event.

Here is a look at five athletes who have informed me they plan to attend at least one of these college combines. I look forward to watching them work out down the road.

I will continue to feature athletes who let me know they will be at these events and encourage the coaching staffs running these events to share with me lists of registered participants a week before the camp or combine.

Athletes are encouraged to claim their Prep Redzone profiles by using the following link https://prepredzone.com/prospect-index/

[player_tooltip player_id='1331128' first='Cole' last='Frank'], QB, 6'0”, 190, Wabaunsee, ‘26

Frank is currently ranked No. 124 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. He has registered to attend the camp at McPherson College. He did a little bit of everything offensively last season for the Chargers. He threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns during his junior season. He also rushed for 344 yards and four touchdowns in eight games. He has nice hands, making two receptions for 17 yards last fall. Looking at his game film from last year, he appears to have a nice arm and breakaway speed. I look forward to seeing him in my old stomping ground of McPherson.

[player_tooltip player_id='1566706' first='Brody' last='Shearer'], DL, 6'0”, 275, Lincoln, ‘26

I got excited when the Lincoln prospect informed me that he would be attending the camp at Baker University. He is a strong lineman whom I have only seen on film, so I look forward to seeing him in person. Plus, it will be at Liston Stadium in Baldwin City. I have seen many college games at Liston, and I plan on getting a good gauge on Shearer's skills during this camp. The Lincoln junior is currently ranked No. 79 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='1613502' first='Roman' last='Byers'], RB, 6'2”, 200, Piper, ‘27

Byers is a quick and physical running back and linebacker I look forward to seeing in person. He has let me know that he is registered for the camp in Topeka on June 12 at Washburn University. Byers had arrived on the scene with an impressive sophomore season for the Pirates. He rushed for 561 yards and scored 10 touchdowns in nine games last fall. He can run guys over as a back and knock guys off their feet as a backer. Any of the athletes coming to the Washburn Camp I highly recommend eating at Taco Villa if you are after some solid Mexican Cuisine.

[player_tooltip player_id='1652617' first='Maddox' last='Girard'], LS/OLB, 5'8”, 175, Salina South, ‘27

Girard is currently an unranked prospect from Salina South. He reached out to let me know that he will be attending the camp at Washburn on June 12. That camp features two sessions, one in the morning for linemen and specialists. The afternoon session will feature players at the skill positions. Girard long snaps, so I am guessing he will be at the morning workout. He recorded 24 tackles last season for the Cougars. Girard also wrestles for Salina South.

[player_tooltip player_id='1402683' first='Magnus' last='Larson'], TE/DL, 6'2”, 195, Olathe Northwest, ‘26

Larson is currently ranked No. 163 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. Larson is a physical run-stopper along the defensive line, but he also caught six balls for 88 yards as a tight end last fall. He looks strong on film, but again, I look forward to seeing him work out in person. He plans to attend the Washburn camp, which will be the first series of camps under new Ichabod head coach Zach Watkins. If Mexican food is not your thing, Topeka is home for a great place for Thai food. Head to Tuptim Thai, tell them Deck The Scout sent you, and get an order of Money Bags and Lucky Noodles with shrimp and chicken.
