Offers have started rolling more heavily for Louisiana's rising seniors — and some key younger prospects as well.

While the first half of April wasn't a busy stretch in terms of commitments (stay tuned for May through August), there certainly hasn't been a shortage of recruiting developments overall.

Here's a look at six that were among the most notable, including one commitment, for fans to keep up-to-date.

[player_tooltip player_id='1625750' first='Broderick' last='Peters'] — 6-4, 235 TE/EDGE — Hammond (2026) —> Southern Miss

The lone commitment of the first half of the month may also be coming with also be coming with another interesting twist or detail. "Bam" announced his pledge April 7 to Southern Miss and, according to social media, he may actually be heading to the Magnolia State a little sooner than anticipated as he has updated his bio to now show McComb High. Whether in Tangipahoa Parish or Pike County this fall, Peters is a nice addition for the Golden Eagles' to their 2026 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='710970' first='Hayward' last='Howard Jr.'] — 6-3, 175 DB — Edna Karr (2026)

Few, if any, offers for Louisiana prospects were bigger headline news in the first half of the month than Howard's long-anticipated offer from home-state LSU. The Edna Karr cornerback, one of the standouts in the Division-I Select champ's loaded secondary, became the 13th rising senior in Louisiana to receive an offer from the Tigers and becomes a key target for secondary coach Corey Raymond as he continues working to restock his room in his second season back in Baton Rouge. Howard is scheduled for a July 23 commitments announcement with the Tigers now entering the mix as the likely team to beat with Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, Florida State and Miami among a few of the other most notable contenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='1372155' first='Calvin' last='Ursin'] — 6-foot-2, 200 WR/ATH — Live Oak (2028)

LSU also extended its first in-state offer for the 2028 class. The Tigers become a game-changer in the already-impressive early recruitment of the promising young Live Oak pass-catcher and all-around athlete, who was a three-phase playmaker as a freshman for his Eagles. Texas A&M, Florida State, Tulane and Southern had previously offered, and Vanderbilt joined the mix shortly after. And both the development and recruiting process for "Deuce" are just starting to scratch the surface for a smooth athlete already with college measurables, great ball skills and a mature, disciplined mentality.

[player_tooltip player_id='401749' first='Cole' last='Bergeron'] — 6-4, 210 QB — St. Thomas More (2026)

The Cougars' quarterback and a few of his 4th Quarter Mentality 7v7 teammates earned notable offers during a recent trip to Los Angeles, including 2026 Opelousas Catholic receiver [player_tooltip player_id='283987' first='Roderick' last='Tezeno Jr.'], 2027 Cecilia receiver/athlete [player_tooltip player_id='934555' first='Braylon' last='Calais'] and 2027 Hamilton Christian receiver/athlete [player_tooltip player_id='934559' first='Javon' last='Vital'] Jr. all adding both UCLA and USC. For Bergeron, a UCLA offer represents a particularly notable addition with his longstanding rapport with offensive coordinator Tino Sunseri from his previous tenure at Indiana. He now has a handful of offers to consider with spring ball and potential college camps still on deck, but the Bruins immediately become an interesting team to watch in his decision process.

[player_tooltip player_id='739753' first='Landon' last='Johnson'] — 6-1, 175 ATH/DB — Madison Prep (2027)

The Chargers' versatile, multi-talented standout kicked off his offer list in SEC fashion this month when Vanderbilt became the first college to make its move. Johnson tagged Commodores cornerbacks coach Jamaal Richardson in his announcement. Just wrapping up his sophomore year of school, he has already matched up well as an underclassman against good, older wide receivers on both the football and 7-on-7 fields the past two years and held his own,

[player_tooltip player_id='489183' first='Parker' last='Robinson'] — 6-2, 185 QB — Neville (2027)

We've been saying for at least a year and a half to keep an eye on not only the top two or three early headliners of Louisiana's 2027 quarterback class, but the Division-I depth of the group that would reveal itself over the course of their prep careers. Well, "P-Rob" became the latest of the passers to kick off his offer list this month with ULM and Campbell both making their early moves. Robinson has good size and athleticism — with backgrounds playing other positions on the football field and also excelling on the basketball court — for the next level and was largely efficient at the helm of the offense as a first year started against a stacked schedule.

[player_tooltip player_id='1237635' first='Isaiah' last='Washington'] — 6-1, 170 ATH — Haynesville (2026)

A bonus update from late March: The Golden Tornado standout kicked off his recruiting process March 28 with an offer from Houston. Washington has quarterbacked Haynesville to back-to-back state title games as a sophomore and junior, but he's also a gifted all-around athlete with good ball skills who could prove a steal as a defensive back or receiver for the Cougars or another program who potentially enters the fold this offseason.

Offers have started rolling more heavily for Louisiana's rising seniors — and some key younger prospects as well.
