The players who moved up in the Spring update for the Class of 2027 rankings didn't all jump by leaps and bounds.

In fact, the upward trajectory was actually minimal for many of them. [player_tooltip player_id='1094944' first='Aiden' last='Manavian'] (Oceanside Collegiate), [player_tooltip player_id='1591712' first='Seth' last='Tillman'] (South Pointe), [player_tooltip player_id='1215391' first='Jayven' last='Williams'] (Summerville), [player_tooltip player_id='1172363' first='Khristian' last='Jackson'] (Ridge View), [player_tooltip player_id='1036748' first='Sequel' last='Patterson'] (Indian Land), [player_tooltip player_id='755914' first='Jaiden' last='Bryant'] (Irmo) and [player_tooltip player_id='1422524' first='Josh' last='Dobson'] (Catawba Ridge) all each moved up one spot to strengthen their spots inside the overall Top 10.

What happened below, however, included varying degrees of Stockrisers who now find themselves a bit higher up the rankings than they were yesterday.

These weren't some product of one 24-hour span. These jumps have been months in the making.

[player_tooltip player_id='1172345' first='Trenton' last='Lynch'] RB, Spartanburg (Up three spots)

Lynch was already a Top 20 overall player after putting up 1,400 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns last fall. He's got gamebreaking speed that he's shown in games, practices and offseason events, and to think he's still got two years of high school eligibility left feels a bit absurd - especially to those playing the Vikings.

[player_tooltip player_id='756223' first='Nate' last='Carson'] OL, Irmo (Up five spots)

Carson's offseason has been a tour de force of college offers and visits. Just since March 3, when Alabama pulled the trigger, he's added eigh Power 4 offers to what was already a respectable list. Carson was oft-overlooked last year while the high-profile Irmo offense did its thing, but he's quickly bursting out of any possible shadows.

[player_tooltip player_id='905534' first='Jaden' last='Ashe'] DL, Marlboro County (Up seven spots)

Ashe got all of three games in his first season at Marlboro County thanks to a minor injury and the postseason ban that cost the Bulldogs a more respectable ending to the year. But for the better part of a year we've watched him with anticipation. He's ready to take his next steps, and they're going to be forceful.

[player_tooltip player_id='663984' first='Carson' last='Bryant'] WR, Wren (Up 11 spots)

The Hurricanes sported almost a three-to-one ration of run to pass in 2024, letting [player_tooltip player_id='1158040' first='Colten' last='Bagwell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1253994' first='Reese' last='Price'] carry the offense from start to finish. Bryant wasn't absent from the whole thing, as he led Wren in virtually every receiving category. With Bagwell and Price graduating, Bryant should have a much bigger part of the offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1036757' first='Peyton' last='Grant'] DL, Crestwood (Up 15 spots)

As a freshman, Grant was allowed to work his way through some kinks while letting his raw athleticism do the talking. As a sophomore, he started to take on more of an on-field leadership role. As a junior, the combination lineman looks like he could dominate. He's built like an interior tackle but quick enough to play end. That's a dangerous combination.

[player_tooltip player_id='1153356' first='Ashton' last='Thompson'] OL, AC Flora (Up 18 spots)

Thompson might not be part of the upper echelon of recruits from the class, but he's also not far off. Everything on paper screams that the Falcons will have a huge offensive showing this fall. But for all those weapons to do what they're capable of, Thompson will have to lock down his tackle spot. He's more than capable of doing just that and then some.

[player_tooltip player_id='1603727' first='Alex' last='Johnson'] DL, Catawba Ridge (Up 70 spots, pictured)

The insane physical presence is one thing. To see him lining up against some of the state's best and have his way is another - espeically when those trying to block him were rising seniors at the York site of the Carolinas Coaches Combines. If you're looking for a player about to make his move, Johnson is a strong bet.
